Child Sex Trafficking is the obtaining, transporting, and advertising of a minor in a “Commercial Sex Act”; or more commonly known as prostitution. Child Sex Trafficking is indeed illegal, but people still find a way to drag these kids into selling their bodies. In the United States alone there are at least 300,000 children captured and trafficked; this includes boys and girls. Trafficking is considered the largest and fastest growing criminal industry in the world, and its success is mainly dependent on the lack of awareness in our society. Child Sex Trafficking is drastically impacting the U.S. and nations all around the world.
Human Trafficking is considered to be a $32 billion-dollar-a-year industry and is rising in all 50 states. The profit is so high because the “price for virgin sales and prepubescent sex is more expensive.” (Bruster Cnn). Trump signed a revolutionary bill nicknamed “FOSTA”. FOSTA targets the Online component in Child Sex Trafficking. “This law Allows States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking, and it goes into effect immediately” (Jackman [Page #1]).
