The Pros And Cons Of Climate Change

Did you know the ten hottest years on record have occurred since 1998? Climate change is the altar of the Earth's climate due to changes in the atmosphere. The argument is if the changes are man made or natural. Over the past few decades temperatures have risen 1.7 degrees Fahrenheit since the late nineteenth century but everyone isn't on the same page about why. One side states that climate change has worsened by human actions such as burning fossil fuels while other argue it's the Earth's way of heating and cooling itself. The reason why it's such an important topic is because Earth is home. Our planet is warming, oceans are rising, and species (and entire countries) are threatened by climate change. Climate change is a man made issue, our pollution is harming our Earth and we have to recognize this.

Over the past 50 years there has been an enormous increase in demand for fossil fuels.
We are burning and using them at a rapid rate. The process of burning nonrenewable resources such as coal emits Carbon Dioxide (CO2) which pollutes the air. Carbon Dioxide traps heat naturally along with gases introduced to our atmosphere in abundance around the mid 20th century. These gases …show more content…

With the spike in emissions Earth can not perform its natural Greenhouse Effect correctly, thus causing the gases to stay down with us. This is the cause for temperature increase. Average temperatures have increased by 1.7 degrees Fahrenheit in a brief period of time. Records are being broken daily, monthly, and even yearly for highs. Animals and plants are dying or leaving their natural habitats because they are too warm to live in. We have seen a spike in extreme weather events as well. Even if the Earth is warming due to natural causes it would be much slower and we would not be seeing these changes so deadly so quickly. With the warming Earth brings questions but science can provide us
