After nearly fifty days in the White House, President Trump has done an excellent job. On his second day in office he vowed to destroy the Islamic State, and on his ninth day he fulfilled his promise of a 5 year-ban on officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government, and a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government, which was a promise kept. (foxnews.com) My favorite quote by my President Trump is “My policy is to learn from the past, focus on the present, and dream about the future. " I think that this quote describes him perfectly as a president.
I suppose everybody is unhappy with the presidential election that took place yesterday about Trump was elected as the President of the United States, but why not think about the pros and cons of him being a President? If I have the choice to vote, I will vote for somebody that is utterly ruthless yet only think about how to improve the country and pursue of success in his works. To contrast Hilliary with Trump, I would rather contrast them as Gengshi Emperor of Han and Qin Shi Huang. Gengshi Emperor of Han is the first emperor of Han Dynasty after his army took down the Xin Dynasty and established Han Dynasty, but he was just a puppet of the general of his army.
In most cases, Americans love a true underdog story. Movies that have a David vs Goliath-like plot, that culminates in a major battle that results in David overcoming all odds and concurring the Goliath-like antagonist. But the reality for most of history is that of tragedy and no heroic ending. This is the case the Lakota of the Pine Ridge Indian Agency fell victim to in the winter of 1890 when approximately 500 soldiers came to stop a ceremony later called the Ghost Dance. The horrifying ending to the once proud nation was a culmination of losing the Black Hills and amount of land allotted for reservation use, the expulsion of the Ghost Dance, and the Massacre at Wounded Knee.
Did you know that president Donald J. Trump is targeting about 8 million people to be deported with the vast majority of that number being Hispanics? The way that president Donald J. Trump won the election has been a controversial issue amongst the people who didn't vote for him, therefore making him one of the most hated presidents to ever hold office. Because of this and many other reasons including, being discriminatory against other races, objectifying women, and not having any prior experience in law and order or government, I think that president Trump should not be in office and should not have the honor of being called President of the United States. First, Trump is discriminatory against all races that are not white.
In The textbook “Presidents and the American Presidency,” Han says that the key to running for president is to appeal to the voters who are undecided and to convince the partisan voters to come out and support their candidacy (Han 110). Examining President Donald Trump’s performance from the first presidential debate of 2016, show how President Trump met some of these things but also did not meet them all. One of the things a candidate must do is appeal to the base of their party, in this case the Republican Party. Some ways that President Trump did this in this debate was by addressing the topics of: lowering taxes, restoring law and order, and pressing Secretary Clinton to release her emails. First on the topic of taxes, he stuck to the traditional republican platform (Republican).
In Trump We Trust America was once only 13 colonies derived from Great Britain, one of the world’s greatest empires of all time. After many years of war, America became a triumphant, independent nation and dubbed the name The United States of America. America was built on strong grounds of laws and traditions and has had its fate in more than 40 strong leaders’ hands since its independence to steer the country to many successes. Now, it is 2016 and billionaire Donald trump is a front-runner in this year’s Presidential campaign. Publically, tycoon Donald Trump is the epitome of rude wealth or the extraordinarily harsh boss.
President-elect Trump’s transition team has spoken out against unprecedented (no pun intended) actions President Obama has taken against Israel by abstaining from a recent UN vote. However, why is President Obama siding with Russia, by abstaining, amidst accusations from Trump supporters that President Obama is making up these claims? During his administration, President Obama has repeatedly allowed Russia to play a bigger role, and infamously tried to reset relations with Russia.
FDR: I invested effort during my campaign and throughout my presidency to convey messages directly to the public and keep citizens informed. Legislative achievements do not necessarily make themselves apparent—a deft communicator often has to relay an administration’s achievements to people. I utilized fireside chats, newspaper prints, and radio in ways revolutionary for my time. Just as I realized that radio bypassed the problem of lower literacy rates among poor constituents, President Trump transmitted his platform according to the needs of a digital agency. Utilizing Twitter virtually around the clock and riding a tidal wave of free media coverage allowed Trump to inundate the media.
There are many libertarians and Republicans who knew, just by studying the facts, that President Donald Trump was not likely going to be found guilty of anything in regards to his win over "Crooked" Hillary Clinton. As the Conservative Daily Post has shown, there is no proof that anything illegal was done. Well, now even Obama Democrats are starting to agree! Eric Columbus, whose Twitter page lists him as "Obama appointee at Justice (2009-2014)" and a Homeland Security worker from 2014 to 2017 has tweeted, "Mueller almost certainly won't indict Trump – not because it would be unconstitutional, but because Mueller's authority is very different from Ken Starr's was." To understand this nuance, we have to look no further than a tweet from Walter Shaub, Former Director, Office of
As time has continued, the government focused greatly on being less accepting of undocumented immigrants by putting more restraints and laws into
218 million people are currently banned from the entering the United States. 218 million, as in a total of seven countries. For one of President Donald Trump’s most recent executive orders, he has, “barred citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S for at least the next 90 days.” (Diamond p.1) Trump might have gone too far but he also might have done the right thing.
Below I will lay out my strategy for helping Donald Trump pass the School Choice And Education Opportunity Act. Despite Donald Trump lacking government experience, he does have the ability to rally people together. In order to get this legislation passed, Donald Trump will need to convince Congress, Outside groups (lobbyists), and the public. Donald Trump does have a few advantages entering his presidency; Republicans hold the majority in the House and the Senate.
Like most, when Donald Trump announced his candidacy I didn’t think much of it. Trump was fully expected to run back in 2012 and the real shock was him declining during that cycle. However, a Trump run in 2016 wasn’t out of the ordinary, and when he announced his candidacy on June 16th, 2015 it was the thought of “this should be fairly entertaining”. The entertainment is over.
There are (more than two, but not a lot of) disadvantages of a two-party system including the strict and organized party values politicians must follow, the inability to agree (after everyone gives something up), this way the inability to make effective change and the extreme (dividing of people into two groups with very different opinions) of parties. The two-party system also keeps independents and moderates from being able to act on any worthwhile ideas they share that do not fall squarely within one
Immigration plays an important role in the building and maintaining of a country. For the United States of America, immigration has provided the foundation that has led to a successful nation; furthermore, immigrants in the early years of the United States helped shape and create the nation we love today. Through the process of legal immigration, settlers were allowed to gain citizenship, and further contribute to the beloved nation. However, in previous decades the United States has encountered a problem regarding immigration that is too troubling to ignore: illegal immigration.
