Regardless of one's political affiliation, affinities, or orientation, there can be little doubt that the campaign, and extravaganza known as Donald Trump, is unique, unusual, and rarely, if ever previously observed. While Ronald Reagan had been an actor, he also was Governor of California, prior to ascending to the Presidency, and, in recent history (if ever), we have never seen any President, who held no previous public office. Conventional political wisdom has always urged politicians to use specific rhetoric, which while popular, avoided offending large groups of potential voters. Mr. Trump is certainly the most entertaining candidate, and attracts attention, but does that mean he should be President? To date, the news media’s have added to the man's mystique, by providing more focus on his campaign, every day, than, it seems, all the other candidates, combined! Rhetoric over solutions Fact-checkers have been busy reviewing the man's comments, etc., and in a large number of circumstances, have found either exaggerations, or misstatements! Empty and/or hateful, populist rhetoric often attracts attention, but isn't there a need for some viable, pragmatic, realistic, fair-minded solutions? Easy, quick, simplistic solutions, over long-term sustainable ones Every leader, at some point, understands that he must choose a path to pursue, either a quick and simplistic one, or, a truly well-considered, sustainable one.
