Child abuse is where the parent or another adult is mistreating the child. Child abuse comes in many forms like physical, emotional, and sexual abuse (Tollefson). Child abuse is not just spanking the kid child abuse is doing anything that can physically harm the child. Leaving the child home alone for hours at a time with no parental supervision is child abuse. The most common form is neglect. Neglect is the failure of a parent or caregiver to provide basic needs for a child (Tollefson). If the parent neglects the child that is not being able to give the child stuff like clothes or food stuff they need to live. If an child is left without food for one to say about five days that is neglect. Kids seem to get put into foster care if their parent was abused.
