The Pros And Cons Of Fracking

443 Words2 Pages

There has been a big debate whether or not fracking is good for the environment; however, scientifically it has been proven fracking is harmful to our ecosystem. Fracking has gone on for several decades, just to collect fossil fuels. Fracking is a process of drilling down into the earth before a high-pressure water mixture is directed at the rock to release the gas inside. Water, sand, and chemicals are injected into the rock at high pressure which allows the gas to flow out to the head of the well. From what I read from the article “Fracking Fuels Energy Debate” is that fracking has caused several environmental issues on our planet. For example, it has caused water pollution, air pollution, and health issues among animals and humans. We should pass a bill banning Fracking in Florida.
Fracking has caused oil and gases to leak in peoples water supplies, This causes water pollution. Water pollution is a serious problem. Once oil or gases get into water it is hard to get out, but when they do get those chemicals out where do they go? The chemicals get dumped into big pools which eventually goes into big empty fields of water. When a person or an animal drinks the water that's polluted from fracking it makes them really sick or even kills them. …show more content…

From the article “Fracking Fuels Energy Debate” they said that the air is polluted when gases from fracking are leaked during the process that drills and brings gases to market and the potentially toxic chemicals that are used in the fracking process create air pollution that increases global warming and is a danger to health. Toxic air pollution from fracking causes a wide spectrum of health issues for Americans across the country. Fracking has led to an increase in truck traffic, one of the reasons for worsening trends in air quality in areas with oil and gas
