For many couples in the world childbirth is difficult. There are a lot of families who have trouble reproducing or have another complications. Adoption can be a long, expensive, and stressful process for many. Seeing these two women achieve success and adopt a daughter of their own just brings so many emotions. Homosexual couples most likely felt overwhelmed knowing that they might soon be getting this same chance.
Everyone has an opinion and different beliefs on almost every topic, in which one of the most controversial topics is adoption. In adoption, people believe that race matters due to their ethical or cultural beliefs; however race does not matter because every child needs a loving home. Additionally, studies of multiracial families show that kids are more aware of their culture, as well as they are more like the community around them, then their ethnic background. There are many adoption agencies, and others with the beliefs that kids need to be with parents of the same ethnicity because it would provide the child with more cultural awareness, as well as it would prevent children from the danger and backlash they might get from others. When it comes to adoption to me I believe it can either be a sad situation or a good outcome for the child, but to me having to see a child leave their parent is heartbreaking but if it is what is best for everyone than in that type of situation it is better to give the child up. Personally I do not know anyone who has done an interracial adoption but, was never against them. For me I think it would be very hard to go back and see someone you have not seen since you were given up for adoption and do not know if I could actually have the courage to do it. I think when it comes to interracial adoption you can look at it many different ways and come up with many different pros and cons when thinking about it. One negative for sure could be that you may never know your actual cultures ways and values for sure if your adopted parents are not willing to practice or even talk about where you may of came from, but in that situation it could also make the adoption a little easier on the child and also the parents who adopt the child because it could make the process go a little smoother and have the child get to know their new family more and their way of doing things.
Colson does not mention nor take into account all of the heterosexual couples that leave their child in the car when it’s either freezing or scorching hot out and they die. There is a significantly higher amount of ethnic, or non-white, children that need to be adopted. This creates a win-win situation for both the parents and the child because the child can be placed with their new family much faster. Whites who understand the significance of race, and who are otherwise qualified, should be permitted to adopt black children (Maxwell). If a white family is willing to learn and understand what it means to be a certain race, then they should be allowed to adopt black children. If whites could just adopt black children, then the interracially adoption will be quick and black children will have homes quicker.

With that being said, there are many different forms of adoption, but a popular decision is transracial adoptions. Advocators of gay adoption first of all believe that children adoption is an equal right for gay couples and it can not be discriminatory only because of their sexual orientation. The UK government makes a rule about who can adopt a child, it says: one may be able to adopt a child if you are aged 21 or over and either single, married, in a civil partnership, or an unmarried couple no matter you are same sex or the opposite.
