Everyone talks about gun control needing to be stricter and laws that need to be changed, but what are people going to change? Some say that guns should be taken away all together but does that really solve anything? Guns are so easily essaible it is unreal, yes one would have to do a "background" check but one doesn't even have to put down their social security number if they do not wish to do so. Not everyone that buys a gun is buying it to use it in a dangerous way. Most people buy a gun to protect their home and family or even just in case of an emergency. Three areas that should be more focused on when thinking about changing gun laws are testing before ownership, raising the age requirement to twenty-one, and no criminal should be allowed to even be considered for the ownership of a gun. That would work fine if there were no criminals out there that took those guns and took innocent people's lives. Most people believe that gun laws should be left alone and not messed with but if there is no law then people can just go and do as they please. The second amendment does state that people have the right to own and bear arms which is fine unless used to take lives that have not done anything wrong. The argument could also be made that all criminals should not have the right to own a gun revoked if they have not committed a dangerous or life threatening crime. Also, that taking a test does not solve anything that if they can pass the test even if they are mentally ill then it is just a waste of time. But if the test was in place at least this way everyone that is going to own a gun would be educated on how to use it safely. Which could prevent some of the accidental deaths from firearms if no one messes around with them like they did before the safety
