Pleasant Bluffs: Launching A Home-Base Hospital Program While analyzing the case on Pleasants Bluffs, the main problem is how will they come up with a proposal for the pilot program for Pleasant Bluffs home-base hospital care and how to manage it. According to the case, it stated that Graff Salot, the director of Performance Improvement (PI), at Pleasant Bluffs Health System, is tasked with making these changes. (Erskine,2016) Therefore some potential solution might be to complete this task, he must first hired more people for administrative, and clinical. By doing this, will help to better manage the PI department and patients.
The CEO didn’t take into consideration before privatization of the hospital, the cost and benefits process that will negatively affect huge losses and not meet the needs of clients, stakeholders, and shareholders. As a result to the issue each “system should use their mission and values as a guide in making difficult trade off decisions. Also each system should develop a formal strategic plan for the system with input and a high degree of interaction among the corporate office and institutions in all geographic regions. Lastly system should develop and implement explicit measures for quality of care, patient satisfaction, efficiency, and community benefit, and then provide these data to purchasers and other key stakeholders” (Wolper, L.,

Ultimately benefitting every stakeholder and member at every level of the facility, West Anaheim Medical Center's need for a well-developed strategic plan remains critical to their success as a large health organization. The strategic planning process itself initially begins with the board of directors, but eventually involves all levels of managerial and operational functions of the medical center. Authors Cleverley and Cameron (2007) imply that the board plays the crucial role in such a complex and intensive process. A noteworthy strategic plan strengthens the center's adaption to change, providing more certainty towards future uncertainties. For example, the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 took several years after it was established as a health care reform to take effect.
Last week I found the information that I gathered from the assignment on conducting a visit to a local healthcare facility to hold the most interesting concepts from me. Having worked for different healthcare facilities, I have had my share of Joint Commission visits. It is not at all a visit that hospital employees look forward to. Learning about the details behind what the surveyors intend to achieve by examining hospital practices, questioning employees and asking patients about their stay makes more sense now.
The name health administration frequently brings to attention an active executive sitting behind a desk, retrieving calls and going over paperwork before the board convention behind closed doors. But in reality, that scope of what a health administrator does is absolutely not the complete story. Though working in a hospital setting is quite known, there are varieties other paths a healthcare administration competent can take and the responsibilities of each widely. The discipline and knowledge required for a health administration position also lends itself well to other areas of the healthcare field. Administrators could prefer to transition into private practice, managing large groups of physicians.
The more programs we can design to maximize the patients' care and the quality of that care, we can begin to create an over-all healthcare system that provides the best care for everyone. With improvements and revenue these facilities can function if their planning has taken into consideration all these systems and programs. The fundamental basis of the healthcare system needs to address these issues in order to create a quality facility for everyone. Integrating efficiency and effectiveness of strategic planning is not that easy to incorporate in a facility that is already established. To integrate programs and specific plans, there are so many factors that need to be addressed and over-come.

It is completely unethical to bill a patient to whom which you have never lied eyes on. After speaking with multiple people in the billing department and above, including the CMO, within the Valleycare system all agreeing that in fact you CAN NOT bill a patient you have never seen, my next call will be the state medical board.
With a complex environment such as this, having a successful practice requires a lot of planning. Maintaining a successful practice requires more business acumen, than medical skills. And this trend is not going away. This makes strategic planning imperative for any medical practice.
Physicians and Hospitals go hand in hand when it comes to the medical care of patients, and it is this relationship that allows the patients to receive the care they need and deserve. It is also this relationship that we as health care administrators need to understand. In order to fully understand this relationship we need to define the concept of the integrated physician model. We also need to explain the importance of clinical integration in the strategic planning process, and the dynamics of and controversies surrounding accountable care organizations and alternative approaches to the current health system. I will also explain the advantages and disadvantages for hospitals and physician’s models.
An analysis of the financial challenges that healthcare administrators face in America are the rising costs of uninsured patients and Medicare/ Medicaid reimbursement debt that continue to have negative affect on the budget of the healthcare facility. As a healthcare administrator it is prudent
In the healthcare field, you are presented with advantages and disadvantages in serving the community and gaining rapport from all aspects. The pro's and con's in the multidisciplinary team weigh heavy factors upon the overall outcome of the organization. During my tenure in undergraduate school, I was able to intern at over 15 healthcare facilities witnessing the procedures of administrators, doctors, nurses, physical therapist, and more. While in this developmental stage I processed the policy and procedures of healthcare learning a tremendous amount of favorable versus unfavorable professionalism in the healthcare field. When looking at the entire scope of the work atmosphere all professionals hold an amount of power and ability providing care to the patients in the time of vulnerability for a healthier state of life.
The changing climate as a result of the advent of value-based care continues to place significant demands on hospitals, medical providers, healthcare organizations, and physicians to take a completely new look at the marketing strategy. A coherent strategy and sustained quality are critical in today’s healthcare market to attract new patients, retain existing clients, and maintain positive and productive relationships between the patients and hospital staff. To be viable today, healthcare organizations have to utilize effective strategic planning to develop integrated marketing strategies that makes it efficient and easy for the target population to identify what they need, make informed decisions, and provide insights and new information – not just basic promotion.
