S.W.O.T. (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats)
The needs of Community South Medical Center is a shortage of clinical staff including registered nurses, respiratory therapists, and medical technologists; non-interfacing information technology systems; antiquated facilities and infrastructure; decline in T.J.C. compliance on internal audits; and a shift to its financial mix. In order to re-evaluate the strategic plan the Center put into place three years ago, looking at the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the continued operation of the Clinic. The more programs we can design to maximize the patients' care and the quality of that care, we can begin to create an over-all healthcare system that provides the best care for everyone. With improvements and revenue these facilities can function if their planning has taken into consideration all these systems and programs. The fundamental basis of the healthcare system needs to address these issues in order to create a quality facility for everyone. Integrating efficiency and effectiveness of strategic planning is not that easy to incorporate in a facility that is already established. To integrate programs and specific plans, there are so many factors that need to be addressed and over-come. The system structures and conditions of the plan that are under the control of the company are easier to manage and address any issues that may happen. The external factors that are not under the control of the company make the planning process more difficult to implement for efficiency and
