It is apparent that Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner share many thematic similarities. One of these themes is the idea of humanity, “What makes someone human?” In Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein the idea of humanity is often teased with the creature. Victor sees the creature as an “abomination” and rejects him because of his imperfection/ monstrosity. Because of the creature’s appearance he is rejected by society, often being met with shrieks and horror.
All too often, owners of companies strictly hire people that are qualified on paper, without taking into consideration they may decrease production if there is a lack of unity in the group. Many companies I have worked for, have a history of hiring a person based on their accolades and level of schooling. This is beneficial in some instances, like a hospital, where the employee hired must have a certain level of qualifications. In most cases, if the people in charge took the initiative to arrange working groups based on the employee’s strengths and weaknesses, they may find a change in morale, as people tend to feed of each other.

No company should be able to discriminate against an individual based on their opinion regarding the union. Some people favor the idea and others simply do not. I have mixed feelings regarding the topic, but it is my opinion and it should not stop me from being hired at a job I am qualified for. The union has many pros and cons that could benefit an employee. However, if an individual goes into a non-union workplace and begins to talk about it or states they are beginning a union they will be consequences.
It was under the most delicate of circumstances, when I realized what I was born to do for the rest of my life. It was march 2007, my grandfather was suffering from pneumonia and due to his deteriorating condition he was hospitalized. I had flown in from Toronto to be by his side. Sitting anxiously by his bedside with tears in my eyes wondering if I could do anything to make my grandfather feel better, I watched doctors come and go , updating us on his blood reports, EKGs, chest x-rays, ABGs, and at the same time constantly counseling my concerned family members. As they explained what they were doing to bring my grandfather to the path of recovery, I watched in utter fascination.

'A psychological test is any procedure on the basis of which inferences are made concerning a person 's capacity, propensity or liability to act, react, experience, or to structure or order thought or behaviour in particular ways ' (The British Psychological Society). The psychometric tests which companies make use of when selecting among job applicants have the potential to provide us with information about the kind of skills which employers are really looking for and they do provide additional information to that available in skill surveys. Psychometric tests are most likely to be used for managerial and graduate vacancies, and are seldom used for manual vacancies. The costs of these tests are substantial. This implies that

I have always been unsure when it comes to a choosing a career for myself. Whether it be a nurse, a doctor, a counselor, or even an engineer, I have never been able to come to a compromise on the “right” career path. One thing that has always been clear to me is that whatever career I choose in the future, I want to be able to impact a person 's life everyday. Recently, I have been thinking about what profession could help me accomplish this lifelong goal, and I have come to a decision. The career path I have chosen is a degree in psychology.
