This paper is going to encompass different leadership theories and their relevance to my own personal personality and method of leadership. There will be information on the advantages and disadvantages of the leadership theories and information on each including examples. The purpose of this paper is to view various kinds of leadership theories and apply them to a real-life scenario.

Leadership Theories There are quite a few different leadership theories available for people to take information from and use in business settings and even personal settings. According to Bauer and Erdogan (2010), we have Fiedler’s Contingency Theory, Situational Leadership, Path-Goal Theory of Leadership, and Vroom and Yetton’s Normative Decision Model. I will explain three of these theories one-by-one, then discuss their advantages and disadvantages, and then analyze how each fits with my personality traits and leadership method. Fiedler’s Contingency Theory is based upon the LPC scale of a person also known as the Least Preferred Coworker (Bauer & Erdogan, 2010). If you have a high LPC, that means you still think well of even the worst coworker you could imagine. If you have a low LPC, it means that you think that the coworker you would hate would also be a bad person. This helps us identify the separation used when it comes to personal preferences and then the overall person. If you are people-oriented you will most probably have a high LPC and if you are task-oriented you will have a
