It won’t be because of a Maya prophesy, but humanity may meet its doom someday. Human’s ingenuity could eventually bring about its own destruction. However, in some occasion human have no choice, but do what needed to be done for the survival of their community. Erich Fromm quotes to one of his articles that “If mankind commits suicide it will be because people will obey those who command them push the deadly buttons; because they will obey the archaic passion of fear, hate, and greed (157).” Considered from all that he said, it would take a considerable number of nuclear bombs to wipe out all of the humanity. There is a price to pay for being obedient, but if the price is to free your country, your family from being dominated? That's what soldiers are trained to do. In the military, the obedience to the officer in command is absolute, even though it might be killing innocent people. Some normal people might realize the military is cruel and unethical in their means because all soldiers are carrying weapons, a tool that is used to kill. However, the objective of the military will always be esteemed, honorable, and respectful. The soldiers serve and protect their community. The need of society always comes first before anything else. They are willing to put their life on the line between life and death for the sake of their nature, and their
