Japanese Bombing The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was necessary in order for Japan to surrender, save American lives, and keep the Soviet Union from expanding its influence in Asia. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. held a conference in which they made it official that they were at war with Japan and ready to strike back as soon as possible. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki made the Japanese realize that they couldn’t afford another fatal bombing and cause innocent people to die again so shortly after the bombing, they surrendered to the United States. Soon after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the United States knew that they had to come up with a plan to invade Japan and force them to surrender.
Not only did the bomb kill thousands of people, houses and buildings got burned down, causing so many to be poor and homeless. Before the U.S. dropped the bomb on the Japanese, Japanese was already losing in the war and was ready to surrender. In the document 2 it states, “The use of the barbarous weapon at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was of no material assistance in our war against Japan. The Japanese were already defeated and ready to surrender…” This text proves that the Japanese was already about to surrender.
Particularly Thousands of people died in both countries. The United States killed much more peoples in Japan, more than japan did. Japan was more scared of Russia would have no qualms about to kill Hirohito. The bomb was already created, there was only left to taste the bomb, but the bomb was needed to be used on anyone, and since Germany was out of the war, the most logic pace to use the bomb would be in Japan. The bombs were finally dropped in japan because at that time white Americans were racist, they didn 't consider the yellow japan as humans.
The recommendation to use the bomb without specific warning indicates that the United States was seeking to use the atomic bomb as a strategic and political tool to quickly end the war and demonstrate its technological
After the bombs were dropped on Japan, the Japanese had officially surrendered their war a couple days afterwards. The destruction and casualties of this bomb was catastrophic. People were burned head to toe, exposure to radiation was severe, and the people were in a state of nightmare. The bomb “had more than two thousand times the blast power of the British Grand Slam, which is the largest bomb ever yet used in the history of warfare.” Japan had to surrender after this attack or they would have faced total destruction from the United States.
The Atom Bomb: Why? On the morning of August 6, 1945, Enola Gay dropped “Little Boy” on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Little Boy was the first nuclear weapon to be used during a time of war. The explosion immediately killed an estimated 70,000 people.
On 6 August 1945, the first ever atomic bomb to be dropped on foreign soil was released from Enola Gay on Hiroshima in Japan. The nuclear bomb ‘Little Boy’ was dropped as a disastrous attack in an attempt to make the Japanese surrender to America, and destroyed Hiroshima where over 70,000 people were killed instantaneously. When the Emperor of Japan refused to acquire the United States' (U.S./USA) terms of surrender, the U.S. Dropped their second atomic bomb, 'Fat Man' over Nagasaki on August 9th, 1945. Many people despise the use of the atomic bombs, including myself, as the mass murder of civilians is a cruel, uncalled for, sadistic act. The point of this investigation is to determine whether America's decision to drop the Atomic Bombs
Have you signed up for a competition before? The U.S entered into a contest against Germany and won and then used it on Germany. They got nuclear weapons, bombs and an advantage. According to history.com Albert Einstein warned the US that Nazi Germany was working on the atomic bomb. Overall this bomb used on japan ended WWII.
World War Two was a global conflict which began in 1939, and ended in 1945. The belligerents of the war were Germany, Italy, and Japan. These three countries were called the Axis. The opposing side consisted mainly of the United States, France, Britain, the Soviet Union, and China. There were over forty to fifty million deaths worldwide from 1939-1945, making World War Two the deadliest war in history.
In the years between 1939 and 1945 World War II occurred. France and Great Britain were battling against the Axis powers that included Germany, Italy, and Japan. For the beginning of the war, America was remaining neutral until Japan attacked the US navy at Pearl Harbor. America then entered the war on December 8th of 1941, partnering up with France and Great Britain. During the time America was in the war, America was fighting both Japan and Germany on both sides of the world.
Atomic Bomb: Was it morally and mathematically justifiable? September 1, 1939, was the start of a tragedy to come. Adolf Hitler, the dictator of Germany, invaded their neighbor, Poland; it led Great Britain and France to declare war on Germany. Hitler had plans to consolidate Europe and eventually world domination. In 1941, Japan attacked US Navy Port, Pearl Harbor, that ultimately made the United States enter the war.
The Atomic Bomb was a great discovery for the US in terms of technology although, the bombing helped end the war, there were still cons about bombing Japan. During World War II there was a number of two atomic bombs dropped on Japan, first in Hiroshima and the second one dropped on Nagasaki. They dropped on August 6, 1945, and August 9, 1945. The main reason we bombed Japan was because of Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941. America and Japan were known for their advanced machinery of ships.
Without the use of two atomic bombs, 214,000 lives could have been saved. Such a striking number of casualties in three short days suggests that President Truman’s decision to use nuclear weapons on two Japanese towns was exceedingly unethical. However, without dropping the world’s most destructive weapon, World War II would have had a much different ending. On the surface, the atomic bomb formation may have seemed like a quick process that effectively prevented further Japanese attacks, but beneath, its creation involved hundreds of researchers and considerable amounts of skepticism. Although potentially better alternatives to nuclear weapons were suggested, the Manhattan project and atomic bomb use ultimately proved to be effective in ending World War II while simultaneously
What would be the first thing that would go through your mind if you woke up tomorrow and saw that a nuclear bomb had been dropped on us. Nobody wants to think about what could happen if a nuclear war started today or tomorrow. We know how dangerous nukes are because of the destruction our government inflicted on Nagasaki and Hiroshima in 1945, but why was that justifiable? Today, only a simple majority thinks it was “ok” to drop the atom bombs so many years ago, while back in 1945 more than ⅔ of Americans were all for it. The dropping of multiple nukes on Japan was completely necessary because it saved many american lives, quickly ended the war, and it showed the world what a dangerous weapon they are.
After the first bomb was dropped, the emperor took the risk of waiting for the next attack. This decision would hang the 80 thousand lives lost at Nagasaki over his head. Furthermore, the Japanese leaders did not believe that the bomb was atomic. (Maddox)
