The ecological model of health deals with the interaction between people and the environment focusing on the ideology that the physical geography affects our health (Cross, 2012). Health geography views health as more than the physical body but also analyzes environmental factors such as diseases and geography of health which can negatively influence our health experiences (Dummer, 2008). There are about 100 plantations and factories located by the Mississippi river, near the Diamond community (Grunberg, 2002). As a result, the air becomes heavily polluted producing a dense chemical smell directly affects the aquatic organisms and the health of individuals in that particular
Have you ever been to a funeral and wondered how a dead body can look so clean and lively? How can it look as if it hasn’t been dead for a little over a minute? That’s due to the process known as embalming. Embalming is the preservation of human remains, using chemicals, in order to prevent decomposition. It is used to make sure that the corpse is presentable on the day of the funeral.

It is now up to administrative agencies, such as the EPA, to see that our policy is carried out, and ensure the safe treatment of Michigan lakes. Some regulations that would hopefully be carried out include further restrictions on littering in lakes, strictly prohibiting the act of groundwater nutrient pollution near affected lakes, and a regulation that taxes citizens who own an outdated septic system. All of these would help cut down on the formation of algae in the lakes, making them ready for cleaning. Once these lakes are cleaned, it is important for our law the then be assessed for revisions. At this point, the source of contamination would most likely be pinpointed.
Every day, every hour, a person passes away. What would they say? What would they say if they knew what would happen to their corpses’ after their passing? What would they say if they knew the cost of their funeral? In Jessica Mitford’s “Behind the Formaldehyde Curtain” the practices of the funeral agency are examined in detail.
The narrative of art that Lorenzo Ghiberti tells in “The Second Commentary” is how the Christian faith was victorious in the time of Emperor Constaine and Pope Sylvester (152). But the decline, began when everyone was ordered to make any statue and or picture in the color white (153). This, in Ghiberti’s opinion ended the art and teachings of sculpture and art. But, the rise of art and sculpture began when Greeks began to create paintings and sculptures over six hundred before the great era of Christianity (153). It is when Cimabue, one of the greatest painters from Florence took a young boy under his wing by the name of Gitto.
Over the years, chemical and industrial plants have been built along the shores of Niagara which also pour chemicals into the river compromising our water quality. Although many policies have been created and set in place, there is still waste being dumped into the Niagara which is affecting our cities water quality. The quality of our air is also an environmental issue within Niagara, potential sources of air pollutants include road salt, industrial chemicals and waste, fuel, pesticides and fertilizer. The first reason why we should clean up the pollution in opium is that it could save lives and increase life expectancy for humans. The pollution weakens some people who are exposed to it and it could even be deadly so if we clean it up then more lives would be saved. In the book it states how Matt collapsed at the river because the smell triggered his asthma, it also states that the eejits sometimes had to be moved from the pens because the pollution would make the air still with no oxygen. This tells the reader that pollution is

Florida has a lot to boast for with it’s beautiful beaches and vibrant wildlife that attracts many tourists from around the world. This attraction to Florida, however, is being plagued by the overwhelming amount of pollution that Florida is facing. This pollution can range from the simplest form of a trash littered beach that almost any resident of Florida can attest to or it can take the form of something much greater. This greater form of pollution is the massive outbreak of green algae that has occurred in Florida with one of the most recent back in July of this year. The algae outbreak is caused by “fertilizer sewage and manure pollution that the state has failed to properly regulate” as stated by Earthjustice spokeswoman Alisa Coe.

Review of Literature Environmental issues began to be discussed and debated only towards the end of the 20th century. Since then significant amount of literature has been penned down raising awareness about issues of pollution, deforestation, animal rights and several others however it has failed to result in major changes, ideas or even actions to save the environment. Several species of animals have become extinct; pollution level is at an all-time high, global warming is leading to severe climate changes all across the globe but these problems do not seem to alarm the decision makers. Leydier & Martin (2013) also states that, “despite the increasing expression of concern in political and media debates about issues such as climate change, pollution and threats to biodiversity, “political ecology” (operating at the confluence of scientific developments, political engagement and ethical debates) is still trying to find its bearings” (p.7). It is quite evident that environmental issues are not treated in equivalence to political, economic, social or even religious issues.
