Unfortunately, the tax breaks afforded on corporate taxes on Limited Liability Companies is much larger than the reduction of government spending, which puts the state in a budget deficit. Moreover, Governor Brownback’s conservatism has brought about a system of selecting supreme-court justices that will not allow for a moderate court panel as well as leaving the school system unfunded. These changes have caused former Kansas Governors to stand together in an attempt to curb Governor Brownback’s

The internal stakeholders in the Sandusky scandal would include Penn State University faculty, Penn State football coaches, and Penn State football players. Crandall, W., Parnell, J. & Spillan, J. (2013), explained how these internal stakeholders were affected. Four members of the faculty were either fired or forced out because of the scandal. Legendary football coach Joe Paterno was one of those who was fired, which shook up the coaching staff. The football players were unfairly penalized by the sanctions that were placed on the team.
The Oka affair turned many heads in Canada, and the world. There were two sides, the Oka, and the Canadian government. Both sides thought they were in the right, but who was. This essay will talk about the rights and wrongs of each side. I have researched this topic from many point’s of view.
Dean Smith, author of “The Black Sox Scandal”, highlights the biggest scandal in the baseball world. Smith introduces his article with Jim Crusinberry, a sports journalist, who arrived at the Sinton Hotel, Cincinnati for the World Series on September 30, 1919. Smith writes how Crusinberry noticed Abe Attell, former world featherweight boxing champion, screaming his throat out with a handful of money and offering to bet on Cincinnati Reds to beat the Chicago White Sox in the opening match. This behavior of Attell was twitching for Crusinberry, as to why he was betting against the greatest and finest team, Chicago White Sox, in the free-wheeling days of Americans gamblers.
Andrew Johnson became the President of the United States after the assassination of President Lincoln. Johnson stepped into office after the Civil War, which was a fragile time for the country. As president after the war, it was Johnson’s duty to assist in unifying the southern slave states and the northern rebellious population, as one country. This was a difficult task to complete, especially after the assassination of a former president who really helped in the Civil War and with slavery. Johnson tried to quickly restore the states in the Union, however his actions lead to a presidential impeachment.

Richard Nixon was the 37th president of the United States and currently the only president to have resigned from office. From 1969 to 1974 Nixon held office after a new wave of conservatism due to the College students marches that consequently turned into riots over anti-war Vietnam sentiment. Furthermore the Democratic Party split due to polarization over the involvement of the United States in the war. According to The Enduring Vision President Nixon had a tendency to be paranoid and fearful of any political opponent; including an “enemies list” where he kept all political opponents in check.
In general I would say Richard Nixon was a fairly decent president. During a time where there were many protests amongst the American public (especially the youth) against the troops in Vietnam, Nixon was able to pull the troops out of the war. Nixon also reduced the tensions with the Soviet Union, and helped China join the United Nations. He also helped decrease the amount of racial discrimination by segregating schools in the south. It is a shame though, that those achievements of his are not acknowledged because of the Watergate Scandal.
The 29th president of the United States, Warren Harding, is known for very few things including having one of the worst presidencies in history and being part of arguably the biggest financial scandal in the U.S. The Teapot Dome scandal is the leasing of three oil reserves, that were property of the Department of the Navy, to Sinclair and Doheny. Albert Fall was the one who made the deal with Sinclair and Doheny because he was having financial issues and they were going to give him no-interest loans and gifts. Warren Harding ended up becoming a pawn for Sinclair and Doheny to make these transfers happen. Harding was a huge piece in the scandal and had a large impact whether he was a knowledgeable player in the purchases and coverup or not.
During the 1877 through 1920 the government's role wasn't really expanding, instead people were getting furious that the government weren't really doing anything to improve life so they started going on strikes, making unions, and bringing people of different cause together to try to force the government into being useful. However, this only led to political corruption, people saying they would do something to help the people and people would believe and put their trust into this "person" to only be blackmailed in the end. These "people" were called political bosses and they had their little organization or political machines and people would do them favors to gain jobs or etc. This growing "government" was a mixed bag for the American people,
Most say Richard Nixon is one of the most interesting political figures of the 20th century. Nixon began his long political career in 1947 when he was elected to the House of Representatives. During the course of his presidential campaign, Senator George McGovern had complained about the various number of “dirty tricks” performed by members of the Nixon administration during the campaign. Nixon resulted in ordering aides to harass Democratic party leaders. The Attorney General Mitchell would later call these “dirty tricks” the “White House horrors.”
Although we like to pretend the President of the Unites States is a perfect leader capable of leading this country to glory, no President is without scandals. They are humans just like the general population, and with every new president, rumors spread. Some turn out to be just that, but in some cases those rumors turn out to be true. Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the United States and during his presidency there was a report that he and a woman by the name of Sally Hemings were engaged in a sexual relationship. Jefferson got married to Martha Wayles Skeleton in 1772 and in 1773 Mrs. Hemings was brought onto Jefferson's plantation as a slave because of Martha's inheritance.
All while Texas added 2.2 million jobs and more than 6 million people to its population rolls.” This is just the beginning, in an article called “The clean power plan” that will be signed in Dallas to help decrease levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. It’s a very interesting article that states, “Texas has twice as much wind power as any state in the
Of the forty-five presidents the United States has witness, the one that has received the least amount of attention and recognition would be Warren G. Harding. During Harding’s short-lived presidency, Harding took part in scandals and affairs that decremented his reputation as a leader. The Harding election was the result of a much needed end to highly popular party boss politics that had great influence over the campaigns (Faykosh). Party Bosses were responsible for the corruption, fraud, and propaganda that took place during the elections. The problems that Harding faced during his election have shaped the foundation of our current political system and have allowed for presidents to learn from his mistakes.
