Should College Football Replace the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) with a Playoff System? Many football fans including me argue that a playoff system should replace the BCS. They contend that it is the only fair way to determine a national champion and that the BCS method is subjective, profit-motivated, and sometimes leaves the best teams out of the championship game. They should change this because it doesnt make sence to have college football teams go against each other in a national championship while eight other top teams play in four bowl games.they should have playoff games like in the NFl instead of having a lot of Bowl games. This was formed in 1998 I strongly disagree with the playoff system they use in college its just not fair to others because It 's not fair because the sec, acc, big 12, PAC 12, and big 10 automatically have the playoff spots with one champion being left out.
The Wabash County Jail was built in 1979, and is meant to hold 72 people at maximum capacity. The Miami County Jail was built in 2009, and is meant to hold 240 at maximum capacity. These two jails being significantly different in setup, their security, and their cells will be discussed in this paper. Their differences are due mainly to the time period they were built in, and the funding dedicated to the jail.
Football is a very popular sport not only in American high schools and colleges, but also in the entire country of the United States. Is playing high school football worth the risk and harm inflicted to high school football players? This is the main question raised by the author, Raymond Schroth, in the article “Abolish High School Football.” In this article, Schroth talked about the disadvantages and harms of playing high school football to the players. Schroth argued that high school football should be abolished because it had contributed more harmful effects than benefits to football players.

Halfway through the 18th century, the United States was serving as a model for prisons. Dix was revolutionary in reforming prisons. She convinced states to invest in libraries, basic education, and more care for the men, women, and even children imprisoned in the jails and penitentiaries whereas abuse regularly occurred (Parry). Pennsylvania was a key role model for prisons all over the United States. This state’s prisons were known for having “two of the best prisons in the world” (“Prison and Asylum
The NCAA Transfer Portal is a tool that connects student-athletes with coaches and institutions that could be interested in recruiting them while they consider their transfer alternatives. The rule was revised in 2018 to provide student-athletes greater discretion over their college careers and to increase transparency in the transfer process. However, since its inception, the NCAA Transfer Portal has been a contentious issue. Many contend that it has brought chaos in college sports and given some teams unfair advantages. In this paper, I will examine the problems with the Transfer Portal and talk about solutions.

Since its debut in 1998, the Football Bowl Subdivision has used the Bowl Championship Series to determine its champion. The goal was to get rid of the idea of having two champions. This system has been the subject of some controversy. The controversy is over whether the Football Bowl Subdivision should get rid of the way the current format that favors the playoff. Considering the fact that they are one of the few leagues, whether it is college or pro, that does not have an end-of-year tournament to determine their champion.
The inner moral compulsion to obey is what drives most social organizations. Sykes (2007) described several structural defects that occurred in the New Jersey State prison. Sykes (2007) argues that power in prison is not based on authority therefore prison officials have to find other means to get prisoners to abide by the rules and regulations. The ability to use force to maintain order on a large scale in the prison is an illusion. According to Sykes (2007), Certain privileges such mailing and visiting, personal possessions, time-off for good behavior etc. are given to the inmate all at once upon his or her arrival to the prison.
Football is America’s favorite sport. American citizens spend their Sunday nights glued to the television, and Friday nights at the stadium watching athletes tackle, run and catch. Some viewers believe that football is too dangerous and should be eliminated from high school. Football is a dangerous sport; however, it should not be eliminated from high schools, because that tactic would be too severe. There are other ways of decreasing the dangers of football.
Prison reform has been an ongoing topic in the history of America, and has gone through many changes in America's past. Mixed feelings have been persevered on the status of implementing these prison reform programs, with little getting done, and whether it is the right thing to do to help those who have committed a crime. Many criminal justice experts have viewed imprisonment as a way to improve oneself and maintain that people in prison come out changed for the better (encyclopedia.com, 2007). In the colonial days, American prisons were utilized to brutally punish individuals, creating a gruesome experience for the prisoners in an attempt to make them rectify their behavior and fear a return to prison (encyclopedia.com, 2007). This practice may have worked 200 years ago, but as the world has grown more complex, time has proven that fear alone does not prevent recidivism.
First you hate them, then you get used to them. Enough time passes, you get so you depend on them. That 's institutionalized.’ A prison should aim at retribution, incapacitation, deterrence and rehabilitation. I am very well convinced that prison has served its first three purposes by depriving offenders’ freedom, but the
Those who find themselves sentenced to time in a penitentiary, jail, or prison are at risk of either being broken or strengthened by the time they spend behind bars. There is a great debate of whether or not the prison system in the United States is positive or negative. The following will briefly highlight the positives, negatives, and possible alternatives for our nation's prison system. First, there is a long list of negatives that the prison system in America brings. The prison system is filled with crime, hate, and negativity almost as much as the free world is.
In order to do this they need to make new centers to help prisoners inside better themselves. In Alabama prisons may soon shut down 14 of its prisons for overcrowding, neglect, and violence in the state’s correction systems. In the prison St. Clair Holman in Alabama the prison system makes prisoners act different. There is no safety, security or supervision. “We have people being killed, sexually assaulted, raped, stabbed on daily basis at St. Clair, Holman, and multiple facilities; it’s a systemwide problem,” said Charlotte Morrison, a senior attorney at the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), which represents Alabama prisoner.”
This approach also prevents overcrowding in prisons because it also deals with rehabilitative
