The proposition 13 amendment is a property tax about how taxes can’t exceed 1% of a property value. California has always had a problem with taxes due to the enormous number of illegal immigrants don’t pay taxes but use public services that are funded by taxes. This was partly solved by legalizing marijuana which made a large dent in the debt California had. Maybe these golf courses paying the correct amount of taxes would fix the tax problem altogether. Land use comes into play because everyone needs to have their property at its best use according to the taxes.

In Florida its really hot, so there grass is very dead and brown and you can’t really play or walk outside without shoes because their grass is so dead and hard its pointy and hurts your feet. But in West Virginia the grass is green and really soft and lots of people go barefooted. West Virginia and Florida both have great vacation spots and places to see. Although Florida might be bigger and has amazing beaches and awesome amusement parks, West Virginia has lots to offer too.
Then if people feel that drinking is wrong and that it damages society, then why are the previous Amendments accepted and prohibition not? Economic circumstances, like the depression, might be valid reasons for such an acceptance. However, no such conundrum is prevalent today. Slavery was thought to infringe on another’s rights (Danzer, 1998). All laws promote this concept: you are free until you prohibit someone else’s freedom, then you are restricted.
In an era of drunkenness being chastised by religion, a new Amendment was born. This new amendment was known as the Eighteenth Amendment. The Eighteenth Amendment gave the government the right to limit personal liberties. This amendment took away the right for citizens of the United States to manufacture a beverage containing more than 0.5 percent alcohol. This amendment also prevented this type of beverage from being sold or transported.
The 21st amendment is the only amendment in the United States Constitution that repeals another, and the only amendment that was ratified not using state legislatures, but by state ratifying conventions (George and Richards). The second section of the 21st Amendment states, “The transportation or importation into any State, Territory, or Possession of the United States for delivery or use therein of intoxicating liquors, in violation of the laws thereof, is hereby prohibited” (George and Richards). This opens up alcoholic beverages and substances up to the American

On June 10, 2016 Gov. John Hickenlooper signed the bill to allow supermarkets or grocery stores to sell full strength alcohol. The new law is to take effect on the 1st of July although it may take months before stores can receive a liquor license. “Grocery stores could have up to five locations in 2017, eight in 2022, 13 in 2027 and 20 in 2032. After 2037, the limits go away and open competition ensues” (Bunch, Arnold
In January 1919, the Eighteenth Amendment to the constitution was approved. It outlawed the transportation, sale, and manufacture of alcoholic beverages. After the law passed consumption moved in the home instead of being in saloons. Americans in the liquor business redistilled the alcohol in certain products like perfume, paint, and carpentry supplies.
Many unions, movements, and organizations such as The Woman's Christian Temperance Union and women's suffrage movement have been trying to raise awareness as to why we should vote for prohibition. “Alcohol is addicting, you don’t think
The Boycott, Divest, and Sanction (BDS) Movement has been widely popular across campuses in the United States, but the campaign reflects a larger international movement to help change the conditions of occupation and colonization in Palestine. Started in 2005 to create pressure on Israeli governments to decolonize Palestinian land and give Palestinians full citizen rights, the movement has gained significant support from churches, institutions, and governments. While the campaign has been successful, it is not unflawed. Its crippling mistake is that it does not fully endorse a two-state solution. Creating two distinct states is the only peaceful and democratic solution; those who support a one-state solution are living a utopian dream.
To the Maine Legislature: Our state has been overrun by the working class drunkards in our community. They live their lives consumed by the need to consume alcohol; and I call to you today to consider the needs and well-being of our citizens and our state. I address the legislature on this day of June 25, 1846, to argue my support for the prohibitionist law against liquor licensing. With no laws or regulations in place to prohibit the purchase or consumption of alcohol, I have come to wholeheartedly believe that our society is facing disastrous consequences unless we stop the rampage of alcohol and its ability to flow freely through the streets of Main.
Long Island is a densely populated geographical area of New York State, it extends 118 miles east of New York City with population of 7.5 million, the south shore of Long Island is known for its great beaches. Although these beaches are rated among the best in the country they suffer from extreme beach erosion all year round, seasonal weather taking toll on the size of the beaches as well. These beaches endured the harsh summer storms and hurricanes as well as the bitter winter winds and blizzards. Beach Erosion is the removal of sand by the ocean and/or wind from the beach. According to USGS Beach Erosion occurs when the waves and the currents from the ocean remove sand from the beach ecosystem.
Since its construction in 1977, the Trans Alaska Pipeline has transported almost 17 billion barrels of oil, and currently transports about 527,323 barrels a day. It celebrated its 40th Anniversary last year, and, even after all this time, is still facing controversy. The pipeline is highly debated as economically inclined citizens of Alaska are clashing with more environmental types. The Trans Alaska Pipeline Authorization Act, signed by President Nixon in 1973, protected the pipeline by banning all legal challenges against the construction of the pipeline. However, this law did not stop the critics of the pipeline from speaking out.
