What is torture and can it ever be acceptable? Well like most things in life there are multiple views of things. Torture is the action of inflicting severe pain on someone as a punishment or to force them to do or say something. Yes, torture is an extreme action to take, but there are also extreme situations that occur such as: mass murders or terrorist attacks. Therefore, torture is an extreme measure to take, but it can be acceptable in extreme situations where not practicing morality on one person can save the lives of multiple others.

Around the word terrorism occurs, but there are huge organizations that operate causing extreme amounts of violence. In the United States, september 11, 2001 is a date commonly known to change our national security level. On september 11, 2001 a terrorist organization known as Al-Qaeda carried out attacks on the United States. Al-Qaeda hijacked planes and crashed into the north and south towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. 2,996 people died in the attacks that day. After Al-Qaeda was discovered to be behind the attacks the United States pursued to state the War On Terror and attacked the Taliban organization in afghanistan. The Taliban are a huge organization of human and drug trafficking. Taliban held power in afghanistan from 1996 to 2001. The Taliban are strict about enforcing their religion which is the Islamic faith. Isis is an organization with allegiance to Al-Qaeda. Isis takes over small areas in order to set up strongholds. Isis has been connected with the Paris attacks. Al-Qaeda, Taliban, and Isis are all organizations that have the resources to attempt another attack on the United
