In the world, torture is a very serious thing. It is a very touchy and hard topic to discuss about when there are two sides that believe the opposite. Some believe that torture should be indefinitely banned worldwide and others believe the ends justify the means as in that torture is the way to go because in the end we get what we need. The reason torture has been especially subject to criticism is because it was banned in the Geneva Conventions across over a hundred countries, but after 9/11 came back into play in America. Even though torture was technically banned, the new forms of torture technically were legal. The U.S took advantage of this and tortured terrorist suspects. Anything to find out information about an potential attack or to find other terrorists. The methods of interrogation were very questionable, as it should be, because it is torture. Torture on its very basis is inhumane. It is inflicting the worst things anyone could imagine on a person. Whether it is physical or mental, it can be horrible. Some people die undergoing torture and others go insane. They are treated worse than any animal has ever been treated. It truly is mind boggling the things that are done to people just because they are suspected of terrorism. They fear terrorism so they support torture. People don’t believe in torture because they see it as inhumane and wrong and others believe in torture because they are scared of terrorism and believe that the best way to get rid of it is to torture. After the 9/11 attacks, terrorism was on everyone's mind. Some took it way too far and it was no thanks to our presidents at the time exploiting the fear of the people to win over them in the election promising strong efforts against terrorism. Some people just started to accuse Muslims and Middle Eastern of being terrorists even if they were U.S citizens or just regular people like us. But in a time of fear some people were blinded by it. There are the people that would support torture 100% despite the fact it is completely inhumane and not to mention banned in over a hundred countries. Some of these prisoner could even be completely innocent but just brought in on the basis of their race that was at the time associated with terrorism. I will address these concerns by saying when I hear about people blinded by fear, I want them to know that
