Introduction: In 2015 the United States Government spent 601 billion dollars on military alone, which seems odd for a country with no major conflicts with any other countries. The only soldiery movement made by the U.S. in that year was pulling troops out of the declining war on terror in the Middle East. So what was the money spent on? The truth is, it's wasted. Nearly 11 billion dollars were wasted or lost in Iraq. The United States has 50% of all the world's military expenditure, to say we’re exaggerating it is a gross understatement.Oh, and how do we rank in education and public schooling? 17th. The solution to these problems is simple, cut the budget of the U.S. military.

The U.S. spends more on military than the next 15 countries combined. These are massive and strong countries like China that have nearly three times the population of the United States but “U.S. military spending dwarfs the budget of the #2 country – China. For every dollar China spends on its military, the U.S. spends $2.77” (nationalpriorities.org). Another issue of this is atrocious investment choices.The number of opportunities for the government to invest in cheaper, more effective warfare strategies such as more special ops or cyber warfare is insane but we still spend money on guns that will never be shot and soldiers that will never be deployed. The other thing about being the most powerful and influential government in the world is that not one country can or will legitimately face us. On top of that we have peace treaties with some of the highest military powers that may pose the smallest of threats including Russia, The UK, China and
