Throughout chapters 16-23 the Ewells show many ways of them lying. The two Ewells who lie during the Tom Robinson trial are Mayella and Bob Ewell. I feel Mayella and Bob lie to get the innocent man, Tom Robinson in trouble, therefore making up lies is not right. First of all, why would Mayella lie? Mayella lies to protect her father.
In Dragonwings, Windrider is described as a practical person and idealistic person. He is idealistic because he dreamed of becoming a dragon again and he is practical by taking steps to become a dragon. Being practical means taking step by step or little by little to achieve a goal of some kind and being idealistic means dreaming big. It is more valuable to be practical rather than idealistic because by being practical, people can achieve their goals rather than simply dreaming about it. Being practical is better than being idealistic because little by little someone can finish a goal.
Estimates show that wind speeds are 70% greater offshore than onshore. Logically, this means more energy is produced per the same unit of time leading costs of offshore wind to have fallen by 75% since 2014-- making it increasingly attractive for investors. Even more promisingly, according to the American Wind Energy Association, the United States has the potential for 2,000 GW of energy because of its vast coasts, which is double our current energy consumption. In fact, in G20 countries offshore wind energy is becoming cheaper than fossil fuels. By 2026, it is expected the market size will become $21 billion.
Wind turbines can be bought at local hardware stores, however, wind energy is much more inconsistent that both solar and hydroelectric energy. Wind is caused by the movement of temperature fronts, a often uncertain and immeasurable happening. Similarly, large and tall structures like buildings and trees slow wind, decreasing the kinetic energy transferred from the wind to the wind turbines, and wind farms would need to occupy thousands of acres for the produced energy to equal in value to the cost of assembling and creating the wind turbines themselves (“Renewable Energy - Pros and Cons”). Although, the supply of wind will never decrease until the entire globe is one, unified temperature, a situation that is extremely
because all three cannot be put everywhere. Wind powers' pros are that it is becoming cheaper and that it does not pollute the earth in any way (12). Some cons are that the turbines are noisy and many people do not like the way they look (12). Some of solar powers' pros are that energy from the sun is everywhere on the earth and the equipment makes no noise unlike some other options (11). Some of the cons consist of the fact that the energy from the sun cannot be gathered at night and toxic chemicals are formed during manufacturing (11).
Going hand in hand with efficiency problems, the dream of having wind power is deflected by the environmental costs that’s within. Preservation of the environment, I think, is one of the main goals of investing in renewable energy sources. Therefore, when choosing what renewables to invest in, it would be wise to choose one that has the smallest amount of environmental impact. The article, Wind Setbacks, Local government grapple with where to put wind farms, by Marty Durlin briefly lists several problems that wind power faces due to environment. Durlin writes, “Wind developers look for strong, steady winds and easy access to the power grid-but such locations often have scenic views, birds, and other wildlife, and people who don’t want turbines nearby.”
Sometimes being an environmental activist is not the easiest job in the world, but it is mostly fun if you make it that way. Each day differs. One day you might have people standing with you and shouting chants on the streets, or people bashing you and telling you, “you’re crazy”. As I have traveled across the world, I have had the pleasurable experience of meeting new friends and informing people of the cons of having a nuclear power plant in our world. I also have attended many protests, assemblies, and meetings, and have spoken at them.
The 3 resources,"The Power of the Wind , Deacon Residential and Commercial Wind Turbines, and Wind Turbines 101 are about how wind energy is beneficial to human life. The text" The Power of The Wind "has a strong argument , while " Deacon Residential and Commercial Turbines" has a weak argument while the video,"Wind Turbines 101" needs some improvement. The text "The Power of the Wind" is strong because the text has good reasoning because the author has logical reasoning to support his claim and he never uses bias. That statement is proved because in Paragraph 5 it includes,"Wind is an excellent for of energy because it is renewable, meaning that it will always be replenished by itself." This proves my claim because it shows that he states true facts and that it is logical because compared to coal and oil who emit gases and it is not renewable so it proves that wind power if beneficial.
Energy, we need it almost everyday to just really survive, and function to keep our ecosystem flowing and moving in the right direction. Without energy and electricity our government would be nothing we wouldn't even have a government it would just be every man or woman fending for themselves, our cities would be abandoned and we wouldn't have power to have lights in buildings and in homes and people would be scattered everywhere around the world, and the U.S would be nothing but grasslands, and mud pits, and just big bodies of water everywhere and it would have animals everywhere walking around and the food chain would be messed up because humans would try to eat any and everything . In my opinion, I think windmills play a big part
Winds are caused by the heating of the atmosphere, cool air sinks while hot air is lifted up. These are called convection currents and happen all over the Earth at all times. These changes in temperature due to the sun creates movements in the air we call wind. Then, wind turbines is any form use the wind to create energy, making it a form of solar energy. This makes wind turbines actually very sustainable as long as the Earth is being given thermal energy, by an outside source, wind energy will always be one of the way to capture energy from our natural environment, while being very cost
Coal has been the favoured source for energy generation for centuries, due to its reliability and relatively low cost. However, with coal reserves slowly diminishing due to the ever-increasing demand for energy, renewable energy sources are becoming more popular. Renewable energy is energy harvested through natural processes like sunlight and wind. These sources are replenished faster than they are consumed, and the methods used to convert them to energy do not create any pollution.
Should we pursue alternate energy sources? I feel that we should pursue alternate energy sources. It would stop pollution and global warming from happening so sudden, as we have it currently in our generation. Using renewable energy means that we will never run out of the energy we need.
However, for nonrenewable energy, this worry becomes a reality for fossil fuels are extremely limited and are already being used at an alarming rate, which means this type of energy is capable of
Wind energy is a form of renewable energy, which means that it’ll never run out. (Solar Schools, n.d.) Wind energy is a free resource, and the price will get cheaper as time goes. Since it’s a renewable energy, we’ll always be able to generate electricity as long as the sun shines and there’s wind blowing. (CFF, n.d.)
Nowadays, we usually use the newer term called “wind turbine”.1 About four percent of the energy created in the United States comes from wind energy,2 and over 100 countries are now following in this trend and produce energy through the use of wind. This not only shows that a wind energy has great potential in the future, but also how popular it already is. It can be said that the more countries there are that using wind energy the better it is for our world. It is better because wind energy is a sustainable energy source.3 Looking back already at around 1000 AD wind power used and spread around northern Europe, starting with Holland.
