Federalism is a method of government that allows two or more entities to share control over the same geographic region. Each person in the United States is subject to the laws of that city, county, state and our federal government. This means in other words that the power is divided between our federal government and our state and local governments. The purpose of having a federal system is pretty much the same with the constitution which is the laws of the land. Indeed folk from, a city or county are subject to the laws pass by that city. For example if you lives in Seattle and you like smoking weed, (weed is legal) and you move to California where weed is not legalize. And you intend to buy or smoke weed you will get arrested. The point here is to show how federalism works. …show more content…

And we notice that federalism is different from a unitary government where one units holds the power, different from confederation, which is an association of independent governmental units. In other words federalism can be a substitute of the constitution but at the different federalism evolve over time and it is consider has living document , and it helps to maintain promote liberty and freedom and restrict some entity to abuse his power.
