Disney movies often show very romantic and nice stories but if you look back they often have many inaccuracies. Such is the case with Disney’s version of Pocahontas. The story has many inaccuracies and children should not be allowed to view it based on those inaccuracies. Disney Pocahontas is very inaccurate because it does not show the accurate amount of death, it does not accurately represent Indians or Englishmen, and it has many historical errors.
While reading the book, Pocahontas and the Powhatan Dilemma, I learned a great deal about early Indian life, in a way I had not before. Of course, in grade school you learn about “Pocahontas” but not in the way Camilla Townsend describes her. I started this book not really knowing what to expect besides to learn more than I had previously known. I know recently a lot about history has come up for discussion in ways it has never before. Native Americans and Africa Americans have been a topic of discussion for the past few years, shedding light on their history.
The development of the indivisible nation of America consolidated through the sweat and blood of many of those who housed here. In particular, John Rolfe, one of the early English settlers of North America, was a specific individual that was beneficial towards the advancement of independence as a nation. The old time people of the powhatans had lived in the eastern Virginia for thousands of years. The Powhatans hunted and fished with fish and shellfish. Everyone paid taxes like deerskin, shell beads, copper or corn to their local chief. In return the chief would give them powhatan`s protection.
The movie did not fully develop Calpurnia's character as shown in the book as it should have. Calpurnia played an important role in the novel. She taught many valuable lessons to Jem and Scout

The author uses not only tragedy but also romance when recapping Pocahontas’ life throughout the years. The book successfully teaches and emphasizes the struggles Pocahontas and her people went through and educates the audience of the real history behind this time period.

Fairy tales have been told for centuries and have been used to portray the conflict of sexual politics over time. Little Red Riding Hood and Beauty and the Beast are both examples of fairy tales with this focus. Making use of this conflict in The Handmaid 's Tale, Margaret Atwood has used certain elements of fairy tale genre to have the opposite effect of the stereotypical ‘happy ever after’ as the novel plays in a dystopian world. More specifically, the author has borrowed elements of fairy tales to develop the theme of shifting power in The Handmaid’s Tale.
