As George Washington’s Presidential term came to an end, there were two political parties that began to emerge due to their clashing of views. The two parties became the Republicans, led by Thomas Jefferson and the Federalists who were headed by Alexander Hamilton. Throughout the rivalry between the two parties, newspapers transpired to back one party or another.
