The Democratic-Republicans followed a strict interpretation of the constitution, where Federalists believed that the document was up for interpretation, and followed a loose construction. The Federalists believed that there should be a strong central government and that elected officials should not be directly influenced by the people. Essentially, they believed that the people would make poor decisions, if left to their own devices. They represented the elite and well off of society. The Democratic-Republicans thought that there should be a small central government, meaning that the power stayed with the states.

In the Musical Hamilton, two songs show evidence of The Cabinet Battles and how Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton had different approaches to the situations at hand. To begin, in Cabinet Battle #1, Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton are arguing to the cabinet members about Hamilton's new financial plan. Hamilton created a financial plan for America after the Revolutionary War, because they had become severely in debt after fighting Great Britain.
The two-party system that America uses today is an extensive and vigorous process. In order to keep peace, there had to be a dividing factor, two sides, both with completely different opinions. While both Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton envisioned a healthy government, they had contrasting views on how the United States should be run. The disagreement that the two political men had for the country’s future carved a path that soon sparked the creation of the two-party system that America still uses to this day. Hamilton and Jefferson both wanted better for the country, war time debt was a weight on the United States economy, in order to pay them off, they would have to come up with a compromise.
The Republican party was the first party to exist. They believe a relationship with Great Britain would put them under a smaller country thumb. They wanted to have complete Independence. They believe that if the states add power it would form a better relationship with the federal government. and this would make it easier for the country to take care of its people.
He believed that the people should be the final authority in government. In turn, Jefferson wanted to limit the federal government’s power to achieve protecting the states’ authority. Him and his followers, the republicans (antifederalists), believed that their liberty could plume only if the states could remain powerful enough to protect their citizens from the new federal government. This party was opposed to Hamilton’s financial plans because they believed his plans were seen as aiding the northern states who had not paid off their debts. The Democratic-Republicans viewed this plan in a way that would generally weaken the power of the states. This party followed Andrew Jackson ideas of not having a national bank, which was completely opposite of the federalists who supported Hamilton and his idea of the national bank. The Democrat-Republicans favored a weak government and held a strict interpretation of the Constitution in contrast to the Federalists who had a loose interpretation of the Constitution.
From 1794-1824, Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton had contrasting views on how the government and country should operate. Hamilton focused on fixing short-term financial issues through his Financial Plan by uniting the states under a national bank and creating protective tariffs to establish American manufacturing. Jefferson opposed many of Hamilton's ideas because he feared they would give too much power to the federal government. He encouraged farming and resisted Hamilton's belief in a strong manufacturing system. Both visions fought one another to gain favor, but one was more prominent overall.

For Example, the Federalists leader was Alexander Hamilton and they were favored for multiple reasons such as, strong federal government, loosing interpretation of the constitution, they supported the representative government, and the federalists were ruled by the wealthy class. The Democratic-Republicans leader was Thomas Jefferson and they were ruled by the people. They were also favored by multiple reasons for example, they had a strong state government, strict interpretation of the constitution, just to name a few. As you can see they both are absolutely different from each other especially in the war against the French.

While the Federalists believe in rule by wealthy class, the Democratic-Republicans supported in rule by the common people. Both Federalists and Democratic-Republicans disregarded the idea of a monarchy. When the Constitution was created, and during the Constitutional Convention, the concept of a monarchy was requested by neither Federalists or Democratic-Republicans. Both of the creators of the 2 parties attended the Constitutional Convention, and they were considered part of the Founding Fathers. While there were many disagreements at the Constitutional Convention, the idea of a monarchy was not desired by any of the intelligent men at the convention.
The Republican Party conflict all started out after the War of 1812 was over. The leaders of the republican party are both James Madison and Thomas Jefferson. Their main role was to support the boundaries on the power of the national government and a powerful clarification of the U.S constitution. They also held the destiny of the dominion changed into depending on maintaining an agrarian society. Thomas Jefferson and James Madison also sustained France.
