Climate change is now recognized as a global issue, which affects ecosystem, human and economy. The impact of changing climate happens everywhere, but Canada has more proactively addressed than other countries due to the geography and diversity. However, government remains some challenges openly. Recently, Catherine McKenna, who is Canada’s minister of environment and climate change, was appointed newly on November 4th (Prystupa, 2015). There are key points as the challenge of climate change that she must solve immediately. They are identified to develop the untapped clean energy resources, participate the summit in Paris, which is considered an opportunity that national governments of the world adapts a global agreement about climate change, and set long-term target for reducing greenhouse gas emission (Prystupa, 2015). …show more content…

It is an urgent problem, and government needs to try reducing the negative impacts of this change and to make use of new chances in order to prevent such a tragedy from happening again. In other words, it means adaptation that responds to climate change. Canadian government emphasizes the adaptation, as well as mitigation that reduce greenhouse gas emission (Lemmen, Warren, Lecroix & Bush, 2008). Among the ongoing approach of the problem, I take up the three ways, such as the protection of Artic area, greenhouse gas regulation and the importance of science research in this essay.
