The Israelites began their history when they were exiled from Egypt, this started in the book of Exodus. In this book it shows that the Hebrews were in slavery in Egypt, and how they got delivered and became a nation. In the book of Genesis, shows the starting of an Israelite from Abraham, to his grandson Jacob, called Israel. Which his twelve sons, were the ancestors of the twelve tribes of Israel. In this book it shows about the people, the families, not with the nation, but like biographies. So from the book of Exodus, started a national history and developed throughout the books of the bible.
