It was a dark and dreary night. Oliver, who was 11 years of age, and his family, including cousins, aunts, and uncles, were having a prodigious dinner on the 9th of April, 1932. Oliver’s family lived very close to the urban society and they possessed a couple horses, at the stables a mile outside of their home, due to the fact that there were laws preventing families to have non-domestic animals in the city. His family has been always close, however Oliver felt disparate from his family. Although, he never tried to interact with his family, because his family would belittle everything he did. He was bewildered and he ran to his collapsed, burning home screaming, “MOM----DAD----” Oliver heard the siren’s sonance in the distance. As the fire trucks were speeding down the street to try and quickly put out the fire, Oliver just stared at his burning home for a moment then soon left the scene. When the fire trucks pulled into Oliver’s ash filled yard, he was already gone, as he walked into the dark abyss of the street, while his mind dwelled with the thoughts and memories of his family. The policeman was shocked, He checked his other pocket and found a notebook. The policemen decided to take a glance in the notebook, out of pure curiosity, and found that Oliver had been writing about his family. He was disturbed by what he read, Oliver talked about his experience with domestic abuse. Then the policeman decided to go to the date, where his family died and the day after the incident, April 9th and 10th of 1932, to see his view. On April 9th, Oliver wrote,” I’m weary of my family’s mental and physical abuse against me, I wish it would cease. ” Then the Policeman turned to the following page, which was the day after his family died, April 10th, 1932. On April 10th, Oliver wrote,” I saw the chance and I took it, I killed my family. They sent me out to tend the horses and I foresaw my chance. When I left the building, I took a lot of dry wood and cloth and set it against our home. I then took some flint and steel from our house, which we used to start fires in our chimney, and set our home on fire. Yes, I killed my family, and I might regret it later on, but I will not get beaten another day”.
