In this era of American history, states had much more power than the federal government had, so the state of Massachusetts had all jurisdiction over laws that could help or hurt farmers. Farmers at the time were trying start their farms in the new American country and they acquired tons of debt in the process getting the necessary equipment to start their farms.
The Pax Romana is described as a golden age for the Ancient Roman empire. A golden age is defined as a time with peace, order, unity, and prosperity. The Pax Romana was about 200 years long between the rule of Augustus to the rule of Marcus Aureliuz. The Pax Romana led to peace and prosperity as a result of trade and stable government. Specifically, trade expanded throughout the Mediterranean, creating wealth, and the Roman Republic created stability.
The Roman empire was a prosperous empire that flourished between the years 27 BC - 476 AD. However, there were many internal and external factors that contributed to the fall of the Roman empire. Some internal factors that contributed to the fall of the Roman empire included their financial strains, and the people starting to distrust each other. Some external factors that contributed to the downfall of the Roman empire include constant pressure from the northern world, and Rome’s army not being able to compete with other armies.
The great Western Roman Empire was considered to be one of the most powerful empires in human history. Rome became the most powerful state in the world by the first century BCE through a combination of military might, political acumen, and economic might. The empire was founded on blood of two brother’s who fought to the death to be crowned King, which lead to the first King of Rome who was named Romulus. By the third century BCE, all of Rome’s power and greatness began to diminish. Rome was falling.
The Fall of the Roman Empire In ancient Rome there was a lot of change that was always happening. Around 50 BCE until 200 CE the Roman empire was the key to everyone's problems in the Mediterranean world. Some of the changes in the Roman empire caused death and assassinations.
Many people think of Rome as a great empire. Nevertheless, the Roman empire had more flaws than what one would think. Rome began around 750 BCE as a simple town. By 200 BCE, Rome was a powerful empire. The empire lasted for about 1,226 years before its “fall” in 476 CE.

Marcus Porcius Cato who was also known as Cato the Elder, was a military tribune in the Second Punic War. He is called "The Elder" to not be confused with his great grandson, Cato the Younger. Cato was born as a Plebian, but had a drive to climb up to the top of Rome's highest offices (McKay, John P.) His main goal was to restore old virtues of Rome that had been lost and forgotten. Cato grew up to be a brilliant leader because of his war skills, humbleness, and political skills.

Idealism in art, is the poetization and spirituatualzation of a theme, belief and ethos, realism on the other hand is the act of recreating any scene, object or action in the form art. The concept of idealism at a deeper glance is the comprehension of the idea or ideal created by the artist, and was the foundation of all great Greek and Renaissance art. Augustus of Prime Porta is a great example of the peaceful co-existence of idealism and realism, since the sculpture is ideal and conceptual in its composition and realistic in its execution. The marble statue of Augustus at Prima Porta was discovered in the villa of Livia in Prima Porta and was constructed to celebrate the Roman triumph over the Parthians in 20 B.C.
In Rome, much like in other areas of the world, there were specific times of day where people would dedicate themselves to eating. The times of day were similar to what is seen now in America, with a meal taking hold in the morning, midday, and evening. Though the meals evolved and changed as the empire itself did, one can look at the different meals and be able to make connections between them and those of today’s importance. Commonly in Rome the first acknowledgeable meal would be called ientaculum. It was not extraordinary and some citizens of the empire forwent it entirely.
The Western Roman Empire fell in 476 AD. There were many factors that went into the fall of the Roman Empire. Economic problems they dealt with was one of the main reasons the Empire fell. Since the romans were not doing good Economically they could not fund the military in order to protect them, which also led to the fall of their military. Socio-Political problems were also a factor; there was a decline in interest to public affairs.
The Roman Republic was an ancient Roman civilization that was created after the overthrow of the Roman Kingdom in 509 BC, and ending in 27 BC with the creation of the Roman Republic. The Roman Republic was created in order for the rich men named aristocrats to gain even more power by removing kings from the Roman government. Soon after, the Roman upper class turned politics into a violent competition in their strive for power. Gaius Marius’ creation of “client armies” led soldiers to become more loyal towards their commander than the republic. This resulted in a commander named Lucius Cornelius Sulla overtaking Rome with his client army and establishing himself as a dictator.
The legendary Roman Empire lasted from 753 B.C.E. all the way until 1453 A.D. However Rome split in two at about 395 A.D. which crippled the ancient Rome we know. So really ancient Rome lived from 753 B.C.E. to 476 A.D. But the name of Rome continued on in the Byzantine empire for about another 1000 years. Yet many people nowadays still refer to Rome as one of the greatest ancient civilizations of all time.
A large portion of Walter Ong’s writings in Orality and Literacy focused on matters that were not quantifiable. It may seem unfair to fault the author because of the uncertain records of pre-writing civilizations, but Ong’s writing’s in chapter three of his book focused on a comparison between generalized points of oral and literate cultures, which created an argument that did not acknowledge basic trends evident in contemporary writing.
