How much strength would it take to forgive someone who hurt your family? Does the feeling of judgment come to mind instead of forgiveness? The Shack highlights specific things. There is the acknowledgment of strength and the true meaning of judging. Then there is the most outstretched point in the novel of forgiveness. These three strong points of the novel help to structure the hidden meaning. Some would say that forgiving yourself would be the easiest, but is it really?

The main points of my analytical paper would be strength, judgment, and forgiveness. In order to gain strength one must overcome the fear that’s holding them back. The devil may say that you’re not strong enough to withstand a storm, but you have to be willing to look him in the face and say that you are the storm. For Matt, his childhood wasn’t all that easy. His father was an alcoholic. He beat matt and then would pray for forgivness. In the beginning of the book there is a time in his life where his father tied him to a tree and beaten with a belt. Then there is the time when he jumped into the lake water after his son. The time when he was able to go back to the shack, was hard, but needed for him. Everyone has those moments of strength. Everyone has faced there demons and overcome them and grown
