In the book mice of men by John Steinbeck, I believe that George and Lennie share a friendship of utility. Aristotle describes the friendship of utility as “friendships based on utility are for people who associate with others for their mutual usefulness”(Aristotle). This resembles George and Lennie's friendship because Lennie needs George because he is the only one willing to take care of him, and George needs Lennie because Lennie can get them both jobs easily due to his size. If George didn't have Lennie it would be harder for him to get a job, and if Lennie didn't have George he would have no one to take care of him. From the day that Lennie’s Aunt Clara died and from the day George took Lennie in as a friend George was always there for him.
