In the world there are many things that have an impact on individual’s minds, but what has the most impact on people’s minds are advertisements. We see different types of advertisements every day; while listening to the radio, watching television, being on apps on a mobile device, and even walking around a store. With that being stated, for the language and listening assignment, the three commercials that were chosen are the Drake Sprite: The Spark Commercial, the Share a Coke: Guess My Name Commercial, and the Diet Coke 'Car Wash' Song Commercial. For every commercial, there is typically an intended audience and the intended audience for this ad is for young people, Drake fans, or even hip-hop/rap fans. Since the product being sold is the beverage, Sprite, the way the company decided to convince people to buy the drink is buy using Drake. The ad features hip hop artist Drake struggling to find inspiration in the studio while recording his hit song “Forever”, so he takes a sip of Sprite to get re-inspired. This commercial gives teens a platform to express their creativity through music and film, because it makes viewer believe that they can become re-inspired when struggling to do something, by purchasing Sprite and taking a sip of it. The second commercial that was chosen was the Share a Coke: Guess My Name Commercial. In the thirty second advertisement, to help a lifeguard cool off in the summer, a young man offers her serval Coke bottles with different girl names on each bottle. After wrongly guessing the lifeguards name as Bertha and Kim, he finally discovers that both him and the lifeguard share the same name: Alex. “Share a Coke” tries to be a refreshing way that people …show more content…

With there being two hundred and fifty of the country’s most popular names, allows people to have fun and go out to trying to find a battle with their name on it, then share it. With this being stated, the commercial shows the audience that on hot summer days, the beverage that is good tasting and fun to enjoy is Coke. After watching the thirty second advertisement, the images of the ad shows people that they should not judge a book by its cover; just like how the young man thought the young lady had a name that was only meant for a girl, until he finds out that they both share the same name: Alex. The final video is the Diet Coke 'Car Wash' Song Commercial which is trying to sell the product of the beverage: Diet Coke. In the 2014 ad featuring a woman in a car wash, taking a sip of Diet Coke transforms her boring car wash ride into an extravagant choreographed party in front of her eyes with showgirl dancers, other people drinking Diet Coke, bubbles, confetti falling to the floor, break dancers, and more.
