The teenage brain is an extraordinary and unique brain as opposed to the brain of other ages groups. Teenager’s brain is more inclined to make unpredictable choices that are more likely to result in bad outcomes and are also more likely to be influenced by other people further leading them to make impulsive decisions. There are some advantages that occur as a result of such teenage brain, including their ability to always seek new experiences, they can stand up for what they believe in and can become passionate about it. Similarly, as Romeo gets banished from Verona Juliet states that "die maiden-widowed...And death, not Romeo take my maidenhead"(3.2.135-137). Romeo was banished from the city and which would make impossible for Juliet to meet Romeo anymore. So, she makes a choice to kill herself on her wedding bed due to the banishment of Romeo. She doesn't think of the consequences of what happens if she dies. She just thinks about Romeo and about her love for Romeo. Juliet's brain was not making connections in her prefrontal cortex as it is not fully developed which makes it possible for Juliet to make those bad decisions. Though such decisions were made by an adult, and underdeveloped prefrontal cortex of an adult would have been fully matured and which would make possible for an adult to make accurate decisions. If Juliet was an adult then she would have thought of the consequences of the decisions she is going to make and she would not have rushed through it by killing herself. For example, in the video regarding the teenage brain from Adriana Galvan who is an Associate Professor of Psychology at UCLA whose area of specialization is in adolescent brain development and as her recent discoveries states that the teenage brain's reward system in teenagers is more sympathetic towards rewards compare to the brain of the adults and she also determined that the teenage brain shows an unrealistic sensitivity towards what they like and wanted the most.
