The United Fruit Company had many ties with the CIA and the US government, being that the CEO of the company at the time, John Dulles, was the Secretary of State, and his brother, Allen Dulles, was the director of the CIA. The United Fruit Company, mainly it's bananas, was one of the US’s main import in 1953 and 1954. It owned many plantations in Central America, including Guatemala. It was also famous for exploiting workers with bad working conditions, and underpaying and overworking them.
