Why do people change their name? Have you ever thought of changing you name? Why do certain authors change their name? Such as Stephen King or C.S Lewis. Although some of these writers felt they had no choice or actually had no choice at all.
Elizabeth means "gift from God”. My mom values her Christian beliefs and did not consider another name because she fell in love with the meaning. Lots of other names have symbolic meanings, too. Jane Eyre should be read because it is a popular, complex and lengthy book which is great for college prep. It was written on October 16th, 1847 in London, England by Charlotte Brontë it has been read since in classrooms all over the nation. Due to its immense popularity, the novel has been referred to on a handful of other popular platforms such as a television show by the name of Riverdale. It tends to make its way to these other platforms due to its diversity and for when it was written it was going against all social norms. The reason it’s said to be going against these social norms is due to the books strong leading character Jane Eyre, a woman.

An author who writes without a pseudonym can only produce one, maybe two, books per year. Why would an author sign a different name to their book? There are many reasons author uses pen name. Authors use pen names because of preconceived notions ,to not get embarrassed,and woman had to hide their identity. First people can use a different name because boys/men may not read a book. In a lot of stories woman think they won’t read their book.
All will be explained. The first reason that some authors use pen names is to conceal their identity or gender. In the case of J.K. Rowling, her publishers were afraid that the presumed audience of the Harry Potter series (young boys) wouldn’t take the book seriously if they knew it was written by a woman (Source 1). So Joanne Rowling became J.K. Rowling, even though it wouldn’t have made too much of a difference.

The novel fits this theme as its protagonist chooses individualism as she refuses to take the role subservience as that of a traditional female of the Victorian era society, she stands up for her rights and want she believes in, she ventures in her own unique thoughts, and stands by her views even if it means disagreeing with those superior to her.
