The introduction of The War of Kindness serves as an effective source written by Jamil Zaki to younger generations about the lack of empathy in our striving world. Jamil's parents grew up in two different places in the world, but soon enough they both moved to America and had Jamil. As changes occurred, their life styles and morals changed as well, altering their happiness and traditions they once knew. In a broken down world, Empathy is a crucial role in bringing relationships together, but in order to keep this, the world must strengthen their ability to be empathetic. Everyone experiences empathy in some form or another whether it's by crying with a loved one, having a conversation about memories or simply just listening to someones problems. Jamil discusses that empathy’s important role is to inspire kindness and the desire to help one another. It is written that a long time ago empathy was once at a high everywhere, then slowly over time the amount of empathy that was seen in the world started to decrease. Empathy plays an important role in our society and without it, it makes many relationships suffer. Jamil argues that “the food we eat, the medicine we take, and the technology we use are sourced globally; our survival depends on countless people we will never meet.” We are all connected in some way and through empathy it allows us to create connections with others that we may not know and create relationships to develop a more united world.
