The book “The wave” was released the year 1981 in USA, which makes this book quite old. It’s original name id “Die welle”. The genre of this book is novel. Dell was the company that published “The wave”. In this book report, I will be writing about the author, plot, main characters and characters, theme and my assessment of the book.
Todd Strasser wrote this book, but he likes to sign his books by the name “Morton Rhue” or “T.S. Rue”. He has written more than 140 young-adult novels and many short stories. Todd actually had trouble with spelling and grammar when he was young, which is surprising seeing as he is a full time writer. His best-selling book is of course “The wave”, it has been made 2 movies inspired by this book.

The book is quite popular in schools in America and Europe. The book is actually based on a real life event, so here is a short summary of the book. Laurie Sanders sits in the publications office at Gordon High School. The desks there should be full of students writing articles. The so called “Gordon Grapevine” newspaper has always been late since it started, even with Laurie as editor-in-chief.
Laurie stops working and starts to walk down the corridor towards history class. She halts outside a classroom to wait for her friend, Amy. When the bell rings they walk together to history class. When they get there, Ben Ross, the teacher, is already waiting for them. It looks like he is setting up a film for the class to watch. Ben has a quite different way of teaching, and that’s why he is criticized so much by the other teachers. But the students love him.
Ben starts playing the movie about Nazi’s and their concentration camps. Ben talks about a charismatic but horrible leader, mostly known as Adolf Hitler. Adolf had seized control of the German government in 1934.
After the movie the students looked shocked since the pictures shown in the film had been quite gory. The class proceeds to have a long discussion about the
