One of the central factors that contributed to the defeat of Japanese in the Pacific War was the weakness of Imperial Japan’s government. This weakness was largely a matter of there being a lack of communication within the leadership ranks at crucial points during the war. The lack of communication seemed to encourage a multiplicity of views and opinions, where “the War Minister was playing his own game of haragei”(source 1) . Demonstrating how the war minister of the Imperial government was contributing to the lack of communication by making his contribution to one of the most important strategic discussions in the war.
