Founded in 1968, IATI Theater is a company of artistic adventurers that promote contemporary Latino heritage through theater, music and dance, serving as a bridge between artists and underserved communities in our New York home in the East Village on national and international tours. We take risks because we believe you can’t create something new without going somewhere that makes you a little bit uncomfortable. We’re always asking questions. We’re never satisfied with the status quo. It’s the secret to how we find the extraordinary.

Last Tuesday, November 14th, a rented Home Depot truck hurtled into a bike lane in lower Manhattan taking the lives of eight people, many of them tourists. Five of the victims were Argentines visiting New York City for a 30th High School reunion; another victim was from Belgium. Officials have called this attack the largest terrorist attack in New York City since September 11, 2001. A twenty-nine year old man drove the rented truck on part of the West Side Highway bicycle path before turning towards Chambers Street where the rented truck hit a school bus.
Flying in the Theatre A system of ropes, pulleys and counterweights is used in a theatre in order to lift scenery, flats and sometimes people among other theatre hardware. This system is commonly known as a fly system or a rigging system. Flying people can be a dangerous act and must be carried out by a competent person with adequate training and experience. A fly system consists of battens, lines (made of both hemp and wire), blocks, a cradle and counterweights.
Ever since I started high school, the question of where I was going to college was in my mind. Selecting a college was tough because they all seemed the same from the outside. I scoured through all the colleges in the state and compared them to me and what I wanted. Hunting for the correct college for me came down to the little things. I unfailingly love South Carolina with the beautiful scenery it provides.
I am interested in Howard University because it is an HBCU that encompass the themes of cultural diversity and education. Your commitment to scholars ensures me that at your school I will be right at home. Since I intend on on going down a medical path, I know that Howard University will provide me with best resources to follow my dreams. As a child I was always interested in the worlds around me and how things worked. As a result I participated in a Summer Enrichment Program located at Indiana University in Bloomington.
In theatre, costumes are essential to be able to portray a variety of different aspects of a show. They can demonstrate temperature and weather, location and time period, characters and personalities. Without costumes, a show wouldn’t be as immersive, if even immersive at all. In Peter and the Starcatcher, costumes serve as a glimpse into the depth in all of these aspects, providing a deeper immersion and a more enjoyable theatre experience.
Arizona State University If someone says they are going to ASU strictly for academics, they are lying. This is one of the craziest party schools in the nation. The pool parties, undie runs, and awesome football tailgates. And the girls…even if there is a negative stereotype surrounding them, there is nothing that can take away how hot they are. Iowa University IowaCity may be in the middle of nowhere, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have hot girls, have a top-notch bar scene and throw crazy ragers.
The movie Stage Coach, directed by John Ford, takes place in Monument Valley, Utah. This was the first western, in which the public would first see Monument Valley, which would become a favorite filming location of exterior sequences for John Ford in many of his westerners to come. The premise of the movie is based on a crew taking a stagecoach from Tonto to Lordsburg while in the meantime trying to avoid the Geronimo and Apaches in his way. In the film, The Ringo Kid’s call to actions comes from both the false accusations against him and more seriously the murders of his father and brother.
Broward Community College was my choice, but my teacher came to me and said, “Nelson, you are an intelligent young man, don’t sell yourself short, do some more research.” And, I did do some more research. I came across this school, my dream, Boston University. For the college project, I found out that Boston University offered a Human Physiology major, which is something I was interested in because I did not want the typical “biology major” to ultimately become a medical student.
The Globe Theater is a very famous theater where plays written by William Shakespeare were performed. It is, perhaps, the most famous theater in the world. This theater holds a lot of great history with the process of building it, the design, and the playing at the Globe. This theater was located on the south bank of the river Thames in Southwark, London. The Globe was built as a large, open air theater.
When one thinks of the theatre, they think of modern day Broadway, New York City, and flashing lights, but they don’t think about how we got here. They think that right now is the peak of theatre, but don’t think about the Victorian Era (1831-1901), when the theatre was just beginning to pick up in London. They don’t realize how much the Victorian Era truly impacted the theatre. In order to know how deep this impact truly was, one must learn about the theater itself, the types of theatre performed, and the enhancements that made the theatre truly special. Before diving into what has been produced from the theater, the theater environment must first be addressed.
The Globe Theater was built to be the primary stage for Playwright William Shakespeare. Under its thatched roof, it housed fairies, witches and ghosts, but it also became one of the most famous theaters in world history. Though the original perished by fire, a detailed replica can be seen today along the River Thames in England. There is so much more to be learned about what created and fueled the Globe, but also about what it would take to form a replica. Regardless of size, the Globe stands as one of the most recognizable and influential buildings ever constructed.
A theater or theatre is a structure where theatrical works or plays are performed or other performances such as musical concerts may be given. It originated in the cultures of primitive societies of the classical Greek and Roman Theater in 4th century BC that evolved up to this generation. The theater serves to define the acting and audience spaces and organize the theater space as well as provide facilities for the performers, and the audience. The first public Opera House invented by a group of wealthy people in the city-state of Florence was the Theatre San Cassiano in Venice Italy opened in 1637 near the Rialto.
Out of Harvard, UCLA, and UC Davis. I would definitely pick to attend UCLA. UCLA has always been my dream school since I was kid. Although, I did not know what I wanted to major in, I still knew I wanted to graduate UCLA. The price is a little too much for my parents, so I would have to get a lot of scholarships to help me pay for the tuition.
