Family is one of the main themes in both the stories from train and Disney. Disney made the Huckleberrys value of family way too sensitive. In the book he takes off looking for adventure and a place in the world. If he wanted just a family he could have stayed with the widow or Tom. Huckleberry turns his back on Jim in the movie so he could stay with the Grangerford family. In the book Huck takes care of Jim and makes sure he is not found as do the slaves of Grangerford. Huck tells Jim that he is looking for a family and deserved to live there. In the book he is set on helping Jim after the in counter with the slave hunters.
