Have you ever had bad luck? Does your family have bad luck? In the book Holes by Louis Shadier Stanley is sent to a camp. The camp is called camp green lake. At camp green lake you have to dig a hole a day. In the hot sun. Stanley was sent here for stealing a pair of cleats. The theme of the story is growing up because in the story stanley shows innocence because he didn’t steal the cleats and it was not his fault. It is also learning because he is learning that if he does something bad he gets sent to a camp where you have to dig holes in the hot sun. It is ambition because stanley goes out to find Zero and believes that he is still alive. In the story Stanley was accused for stealing cleats. Stanley was sent to a bad boys camp called camp green lake. At camp green lake you have to dig holes in the hot sun. You have to dig a hole a day. “His father had been trying to figure out a way to recycle old sneakers and suddenly a pair of sneakers fell on top of him”(Sachor,P.24).
