Themes in a story help to describe what the book is about. It does this in the book Night by helping describe what World War 2 was like for the Jews. It also helps to see what the people in the camps went through. My two themes from night are imprisonment and survival. The first one I will talk about is imprisonment, then i’ll talk about survival.
A good theme is the dust bowl. Because the book talks about it a lot and the depression the people went through and what they did to survive the tactics of how and what they did to get the land back to be able to farm the land again. The book does a good job of showing the struggle that the people in the southern plains had to face in 1930 – 1936. Its show how the government tried to help people by giving the farmers and people that wanted to work bulldozers to turn the land. To try and get the bottom soil on top and the soil that turn to sand on the bottom in hope that the sand like soil would turn back into the rich dirt that it was before.

First, we need to gain a clear understanding of the meaning of theme. As provided in our textbook, “theme is the central idea or meaning of a story” (Meyers 242). Now that we have received the definition, we can begin to dissect a story from our reading of the week.
During the early nineteenth century the idea of nationalism was born. Nationalism is a strong feeling of pride in your country. It is the idea of one country being better than all others. Before the idea of nationalism took shape, cultures living in Europe were spread throughout large multi-cultural empires. These cultures didn't feel any ties to other people of the same culture, they only felt loyalty to the king or queen.
Nationalism is defined as a patriotic feeling, principles, or efforts. In the 1800s Nationalism had causes and great effects on europe and Latin America. One cause being the want to have a greater nation. An effect could be a song or a mural done in honor of the nationalism in these great countries. Nationalism caused populations throughout Europe to unite in order to overthrow existing power structures and develop new ones based on liberty and national identity, the causes, for a greater nation as a whole.

Nationalism is a common bond that holds people to form a nation. It’s the small things that can be unnoticed. Just look at your high school, sports bring one group of people together and sometimes the library can bring another. Within a country on the other hand, it is just a little bit more than a sports team that brings a group of individuals together.

Through personal experiences and observations Frederick Douglass conveyed how African Americans in My Bondage and My Freedom were treated unfairly. Kate Chopin used the plot to show how women were treated unfairly in “The Story of an Hour”. My Bondage and My Freedom by Frederick Douglass tells of some of the experiences he went through as a slave.
The word denotes a group of people and their common geographical origin. Nationalism forged strong bonds and loyalty between the people and the state. Nationalism and national identity have been the fundamental ideas, which have led to the creation of nation states in the past 2 centuries (Olins, 2002). Citizens owed their supreme loyalty to the nation and its representative state institutions. Patriotism was present in European societies long ago but nationalism was invented to reinforce the cultural and linguistic unity of people.
Reunification of Korea is still possible although there are some differences in the social and the economic structures of the two countries. There have been various attempts to reunite Korea in the past although the attempts have always failed and some tension still remains in these two countries. The first major attempt which was made in the attempt of reuniting Korea was made in 1972 (Sam, 1972). The governments of both countries made a joint statement which was meant to reunite the two countries. The joint statement was named as the ‘South and North Korea Joint Statement’ and was made in 4TH July 1972.

The different themes used to describe the type of literature such as: Romanticism, Imagism, Modernism and Confessional poetry. There were many different styles of writing introduced during the time frame of when World War I began in 1865 and to the end of World War II. Romanticism and Naturalism were of the few first forms of American literature that emphasized originality and freedom of self-expression that began in the ending of the eighteenth century. America experienced some drastic changes in geographic areas, industrially and socially which was expressed thoroughly in literature.
4.3.2 Nationalism and Multilateralism Nationalism is known as an ideology that individual 's loyalty to the nation, surpassing other individual or group interest. This action could be achieved either through economic, social, or political action. The sense of nationalism generally was aimed to maintained national self-determination and to maintain a nation need to have national identity, something that distinguish them from other nation. That is why national flags, anthem, symbol, language, and myth are very important for nationalism. Nationalism itself is a modern movement, in which only when the end of the 18th century come that the sentiment of people toward their nation was recognized.
