The title of the movie is called “There Will Be Blood”. This movie was released in 2007. The film was directed and screen written by Paul Thomas Anderson. The movie starred Daniel Day-Lewis as the main character, Daniel Plainview; and it also starred Paul Dano as a set of twin brothers, Eli and Paul Sunday. I totally believe this was a pretty decent movie and it shows the true colors of an oil man who is in it for the money. This film really is a great example of ‘disguising’ greed, and showing selfishness. The genre of this movie is difficult for me to pin point because there is a lot of drama, as well as action and it just throws out a lot of different genres. There were also a few clichés that I suppose most of us could predict. I found it very cliché that H.W, Daniels son, and Mary, Eli’s sister, end up meeting at a deaf school and growing up and getting married. Very cliché. Eli, Paul Dano, played a role of what seemed to be a prophet or preacher (whatever you prefer). Eli seemed to be an evangelist. He was very so in it for the money as most preachers are. The way he moved in and out on scenes and whenever there was an oil explosion he/she had the camera moving as if it were part of the actual explosion. He also did a great job whenever Daniel Plainview was carrying his injured son running away from the explosion and he had the camera focused on the explosion to show us where Daniel’s main focus was at. On top of all of the camera shots, the music was not my favorite. Grant it, it did leave me in suspense at times but I’m not exactly used to ‘garage type’ music. Yes it was actually created in a garage. It helped the movie though considering the time of the setting was older so not having such advanced music helped the movie scenes. I honestly just didn’t care for it, but hey it’s just
