Theseus the son of Aegeus, king of Athens, was brought up away from Athens and when of age ventured to Athens to be with his father. Theseus admired Hercules and set out to display some of his characteristics. Theseus was tremendously strong like his idol. Like other Greek and Roman heroes, Theseus concurred monsters and villains and sought to bring peace to his country. Heroes in the Greek and Roman myths tend to show common traits such as strength and valor, as well as success in battle (Theseus, 1885).
Modern heroes tend to be people who inspire people and/or make a great change to better society. While modern heroes do require strength, unlike in Greek and Roman myths, this do not necessarily mean physical strength. Additionally, with
