Thomas Edison: The Man Who Invented the Light Bulb Everyone thinks of changing the world, but few people may do this. In general, science seeks to provide solutions and alternatives by discovering new devices and systems that could help to solve human problems, and meet his daily needs permanently. Thomas Edison, who known as Thomas Alva Edison, is considered one of the most influential American inventors throughout history. He also was one of the people who have put their imprint on human life through his brilliant Inventions. Edison achieved many successes on a personal level. However, his life was full of challenges and difficulties regarding his childhood, education, innovations and achievements. Thomas Edison was born in Milan, Ohio, on February 11th 1847. He invented many important inventions such as mimeograph machine, telegraph printer and kinetoscope. Perhaps, the most important invention he made was the electric lightbulb. According to an article titled: The Man Who Brought the 20th Century to Light was authored by Frost (1999), "The key to electric light, he gradually realized, was to devise a comprehensive system for it: lightbulbs, bulb sockets, generators, junction boxes, fuses, mains, conductors, and so on. A lot of attention over the years has been paid to his invention of the incandescent lightbulb, and indeed it was a breakthrough." (p. 108).
