Imagine living without electricity. Up until the late 1800’s there were no light bulbs, or an alternative to the kerosene lamp. Electricity became common with light bulb. The year was 1879 when Thomas Edison invented light bulb while experimenting with electricity. Without electricity one cannot heat food on a stove or in the oven. You cannot charge your phone or laptop, and other electronic gadget. Along with other inventions that change the world, Thomas Edison’s experiments with electricity were the platform of all electronics. Thomas Edison was born on February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio. Edison was the youngest of seven children, only four of whom who survived to adulthood. Edison was tended to be in poor health when he was young. Since Edison was not a successful student; Edison’s mother took him out of the school and proceeded to teach him at home. Thomas Edison only attended school for three months. Thomas Edison held more than 1,000 patents in his life. The first great invention developed by Edison in Menlo Park was the Phonograph. Edison’s invention on Phonograph was patent in 1877. By 1980 Edison had more than 80 patents on Phonograph. His famous Invention was Incandescent light bulb. He invented light bulb by experimenting with electricity. In 1879 Edison was able to produce a reliable, long-lasting source of light by using low current electricity, a small carbonized filament and better vacuum inside the globe of light bulb.
