Timothy McVeigh was the person who was involved in the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995. This bombing at the time was the worst terror attack in U.S. history. The explosion killed 168 people with 19 people being children, injured hundreds of more people, and the damage costed approximately hundreds of millions of dollars.
McVeigh was born on April 23, 1968 in Lockport, New York. As a young kid, he developed interest in guns. As a teenager he was bullied, which I didn’t find it surprising due to the fact that he was raise in New York. In my opinion, if you are raise in big cities you are mostly likely to be bullied. His plan was to destroy the Alfred P. Murrah Federal building which is in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Yet, he wasn’t the only one who was going along with the plan. His Army friends also were his accomplices. They acquired tons of ammonium nitrate fertilizer and gallons of fuel to from a highly volatile explosive. It is said the McVeigh chose the Murrah Federal building because it had good camera angles for media coverage. He said he wanted to “make the attack a platform for his anti-government message”. It all started in the morning at 9:02 a.m. on April 19,1995. At this time people where coming in to work. Meanwhile on the second floor, children were arriving at the day care center. At exactly 9:02 a.m. the explosion occurred. It ripped the whole entire north wall off the building. In total, it destroyed all nine floors killing 168 victims, 19 being children, and 650 plus wounded. With a short period of time, they found who was guilty. Even though Timothy was already in jail because he got pulled over for a license plate violation. Eventually his other Army friends surrendered and they were indicted for the bombing in August. Timothy McVeigh was put to death and his friends were to put in prison for life. He was executed by lethal injection on June 11,
