The titanic was a very tragic event that killed many people. In this article about the titanic I will tell about how the titanic was built, how and why it sunk and the impact it had on history and the people involved in this tragedy. The titanic was a very big ship, in fact it was the biggest ship ever built in the world at the time. It was 882 ft long and 92 ft. wide. The titanic weighed about 46,500 pounds. It was built with more steel than any other ship in the past. The ship had 16 compartments that were there just to hold water weight and a place for the boilers they could all be shut at the exact same time by a switch or manually by someone individually. It had a lot of recreational places such as a swimming pool, gymnasium, a cooling room, and a squash court. The titanic even had a hospital. It also had other interesting features that were much better quality than other ships like the dining rooms were designed in several different styles. The first class part of the ship was much fancier than the rest. There rooms had full size beds and room for other furniture and appliences. It was the fifth day all the passengers had been on the titanic, April 14th to be exact. Everyone was enjoying their time on the ship. The captain knew that icebergs were really bad in april, The Captain did not care about the iceburgs because he believed the titanic was unsinkable. there were several warnings and reasons to slow down, but he didnt. He was going 24 miles per hour even though he had seen multiple icebergs. The men who were watching for icebergs did not have binoculars even though they were supposed to. They did not notice the iceberg that was right in front of the ship until it was too late.
