-Summary for Ch. 11-15 (AT LEAST FOUR SENTENCES): Atticus has to be away a lot more than usual for the case, so Scout’s Aunt Alexandra came to stay with them. Their Aunt is really proper and wants them to act proper too, but they rebel. The townspeople are grouping up against Atticus because of the case and they are trying to get the negro put in the county jail instead of in Maycomb. The negro got to stay in the Maycomb jail, but all the town’s men want to hurt the negro. 21-25 (AT LEAST FOUR SENTENCES): The jury came to a conclusion that Tom was guilty. Atticus is upset that he lost, but the black people show their respect for him when he is leaving the courthouse. Bob Ewell told Atticus that he despised him and that he was the reason for all his problems, and that he was gonna hurt Atticus somehow. Tom was going to get the electric chair, but he tried to escape from jail and got shot 17 times. -Summary for Ch. 26-31 (AT LEAST FOUR SENTENCES): School starts up again, and Scout notices that Boo Radley has still not come out and their stories about him continue. Mr. Ewell has gone crazy and is stalking everyone that had anything to do with the trial. The only way for Mr. Ewell to get to Atticus is by hurting Jem and Scout. While Jem and Scout are outside at night Mr. Ewell attacks them, but Boo Radley stabs him and Mr. Ewell dies. Evil: It seemed that Mr. Ewell tried to kill or hurt Jem and Scout, but while he was trying to hurt them Boo Radley had stabbed Mr. Ewell. ( Lee 357). Mr. Ewell wasn’t right in the head and was trying to get even somehow. Boo Radley had done the right thing by protecting Jem, and Mr. Ewell was a horrible person by trying to hurt the kids. Innocence/Maturity: Jem was being mature and immature when he was disobeying Atticus. (Lee 203). Atticus was trying to protect Tom while he was in jail, and a lot of the town’s men came to the jail to try and hurt Tom. Atticus told Jem to go home, but Jem wouldn’t. In the end of that situation Jem made the right choice by disobeying, because if Scout and Jem wouldn’t have stayed then the men would have taken the situation
