In chapter 20 Scout and Dill see a man trying to give out drinks. It turns out the the drinks are just plain old Coca-Cola and Scout was disappointed. The man carried the drink in a paper sack and had straws sticking out of it. Scout was in love with the smell of the man. “ The man smelt like horses, leather, and cottonseed.” as stated in chapter 20. The smell of the man made Scout want to stay and talk to the man longer than they had to. The man had mixed children and he was a very sinful man. He committed fraud to himself and other people by putting original Coca-Cola in a paper sack and saying he made the concoction. Scout told the man what Atticus said “cheatin a colored man is ten times worse than cheating a white man.” The man said
